We have some gun replacements ready t come in.

Worst part of the loss was losing Swan for the season. Pretty tough

The second worst part was watching the first hal and not seeing Travis Cloke influence one contest. He didnt even appear to be at one contest. Dont think i've seen that before.

The third worst part was that our vaunted midfield couldnt get near the ball. and when they did get the ball, they rarely didnt anything damages. Treloar had about 15 stats where he just dinked the ball forward with no purpose.

I guess we might have seen it coming. In each game against the dogs and the Cats we were completely outclassed in the quarter that each of those teams played at full intensity. we only got back into those games when they shut down their A game.

Apart from Reid, who has played a handful of games in 2-3 years, remind me again how many of this group are GUN players? We have depth, yes, but F me we do not have GUN players ready to walk in to this side.

Maxy got any sons? And when will they be old enough to draft so we have someone running the show on the back line?

Jesse White is being groomed for that role down back. He is probably only 6-10 seasons from making it his own.

Time to put Cloke on the wing and do a richo… he can run and he will at least get to some contests - especially Kick-ins. It is worth a shot because he is doin nothing up forward - not even crushing through packs etc

Let's not get to carried away with predicting massive team changes. We lost last night not because of the personnel, but because of the whole team's lack of intensity. However, there will be some changes. Howe probably needs another week or 2 in the VFL to become match fit. Witts was terrible, but maybe, just maybe, he'll be given one more week to show us something.

Out: Gault, MaCaffer, Swan, Maynard

In: Reid, Grundy, Aish, Marsh

Woops! I forgot we'll probably be without Sidey too. Maybe, Maynard will keep his place, or else we might see a smoky like Phillips get a game (apparently he played a beauty in the VFL).

^ In my opinion, none of those names are upgrades, but rather just sideways ins. Toovey needs to come in for maynard which I think will be an upgrade. I leave Reid out of being a massive upgrade for now just on lack of games played over the last few years... but he is an upgrade of sorts.

We only had three players in last night that I would call elite.

Pendlebury, Swan, Sidebottom.

I don't think you can take much from preseason form. Look at the past, Geelong lose every game and win a flag. Carlton win every game and finish stone motherless.

I don't want to try and overstate our players, but we have butt loads of depth and plenty of sideways movement, but I wouldn't say our team is awesome.

Maybe if we can keep some consistency with our team over the next 12 months we can start to make a push.

Remember, the club is targeting 2017, not 2016. Anybody who has us a lock for top 4 (I know a few external to here) is crazy in my opinion.

We need to show improvement and make the 8. That is all.

Give Sydney some credit, they were effing outstanding last night!

And I say hi back.

Still not elite. Very high A grader. Keep it up over the year and then maybe he's elite. Elite is a word too often thrown around.

I thought about calling him elite, but not yet. Very close though.

I personally don't want to burden the lad with that word just yet.

Gault out, not Witts Confused Seems unfair, given that Witts was awful and Gault never had a chance.
