I have to pull you up there Harry, it depends whether you follow the Tannaitic or Contemporary form of Collingwoodism.
According to the Mishnah, the first written source for halakha, the status of the offspring of mixed marriages was determined matrilineally.
All Collingwood zealot movements agree that a person may be a Woodsman either by birth or through conversion. According to halakha, a Pies supporter by birth must be born to a Collingwood supporting mother. Halakha states that the acceptance of the principles and practices of Collingwood zealotry does not necessarily make a person a Pie. But, those born Woodsmen do not lose that status because they cease to be observant Pies, even if they adopt the practices of another religion.
Reform and Reconstructionist Woodsmen often accept a child as Pies fanatic even if only the father is a Collingwood man and if the child chooses to identify as Pie. As the various denominations of Collingwoodism differ on their conversion processes, conversions performed by more liberal denominations are not accepted by those that are less so.
In this matter, whatever is canonical usually takes precedent, but there is a certain flexibility. _________________ © The Dude ®
