A lot of truth there.

Oh boo *&^*(&%$% hoo.

Work hard, head down arse up and you'll be surprised what you can do....... off your own bat!

I was 24 with a baby girl when my 1st marriage failed. I lived in my mum n dads shed, had plastic hung with duct tape that kept most of the mozzies out at night. Kept diggin holes and bustin my arse until i had enough coin for a deposit on a rental (while copping it from the child support agency).

No ones given me anything. Hard work has paid for everything I've enjoyed. Try it.

Interesting I was with a bunch of older women today who were reminiscing at a send off about all the things that the young have today that they didn't get.

Paid Parental leave
baby Bonus
Superannuation
Centrelink support in getting jobs

are just a few that stuck in my head.

My daughter can afford a deposit on a house right now if she wants to go buy one, but she's saving up more for the moment, while renting and she's not been to uni and doesn't have a particularly high paying job, she's just hard working and thrifty.

Well now, so if you have a rental, or even a house , your rich! Or your parents do, rich! Or you can go to uni and live at home, rich! Seems the line is lower than I thought!

So what is driving the property market? And I thought it was crashing?

I read a quote somewhere that said we should start with the premise that all politicians lie, everything they say is purely designed to please constituents/party/get them re-elected etc. So if you start with that premise in mind you don't bother getting wound up when one gets caught out cos it was bound to happen.

So just assume everything they say is a lie and judge them on what they do.

Yep. It's one very obvious example of how your parents' wealth can affect your prospects in life.

so lets take money off people who've worked hard all their life to make some money and give it to those who haven't.

In what way has Turnbull's daughter worked hard all her life for her 2.7 million house? Forget about him; she's the one getting the house, remember, not her dad. She's the one who won't have to worry about rent payments next month.

Do you think children of rich parents should be automatically entitled to a better life than everyone else? And do you think that's a good way to run a housing market, where most young people have to depend on a loan from their parents in order to buy a house?
