Reading some ignorant posters on the game day thread (you know who you are) you'd think Sinclair played a shithouse game.
Then I watched the replay. WTF?
And the club agrees, he was outstanding.
Sinclair’s outstanding accuracy
A number of injuries has led to him becoming something of a forgotten man, but Ben Sinclair showed his value to the Magpies 22 with an impressive performance against the Cats.
The sixth-year player spent time at half back and was a leader in his ball use.
17 disposals came at a remarkable 94.1 per cent efficiency, while he also added seven marks.
It wasn’t a lack of opposition pressure that saw Sinclair receive such numbers. Six of his touches were contested and he led the Magpies in marks from opposition kicks with five.
After a disjointed season in 2015, the performance will give the 50-gamer confidence ahead of what will hopefully be an injury-free year.

Thought he was great. He's been very much above average for the best part of 2 years now, injuries just keep ruining his momentum and confidence.
I said many times that he was rubbish pre-2014, but he's definitely proved me and many others wrong. Some people can't seem to admit that they get things wrong though |

Agree. Next to seeing grundy's incredible ball skills and mobility and degoaey's next level performance, I thought Sinclair's performance was the big positive of the night. He made a really strong case for that last chb position (aka scharenberg's spot) _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

His one game so far was great, be it a glorified practice match. There's a lot to like but I would hold back on saying he has stepped up. Let's hope we are saying this after the final game of the season. |

Yep, totally agree. Some really misinformed views on some players on Nicks but I guess that's what makes it interesting. Go Sinkers. _________________ Billy Picken, the great No. 25 in the sky! |

Williams Langdon Reid and Maynard to come back in as backs
Sinclair just created another layer to our depth of backs _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

His first 45 minutes included some shirking loose tripe that cost us 2 or 3 goals
Then he took a couple of grabs from nothing kicks that i could have taken.
His last quarter was fantastic and encouraging. Probably his finest moments in his career.
But if my future depended on it, as it does for bucks, id be backing Ramsay and Marsh ahead of him.
Indeed there are some spots up for grabs and he is in the mix with the aforementioned plus Toovey Maynard and Oxley or a mid.
Dunno why u use the word ignorant about fellow supporters in the game thread posting what they are seeing.
What did u think of Ramsay's 4 quarter effort?
Who u going to match Sinclair up with at the SCG? |

Ramsay is one of those "dont stand out" players but he as Nathan said
Everyone did their job.
He along with Gault have had early years of interupted footy so with a
full pre season lets give him a few chances cos if courage alone makes
A grade he would be one
We have many options this year as the Gaults and Ramsays shake their
injuries and show their wares _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

How about some of my favourite ignorant stats:
Sinclair
Tackles: 0
1%ers: 1
Guess he was too busy focusing on his 20 meter chips to lay a tackle or spoil a few marks. |

It's probably all elementary if the kid can't stay on the park for more than 2 or 3 games in a row. He has dodgy hammies. The biggest knock was on his kicking which he looks like he's addressed. I don't have him in my best 22 but good luck to him if he proves me wrong. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Got outmarked a couple of times without much body work too. I thought he did well when he had the pill but not well enough without it. BUT it's only a practice match, you don't kick 21 goals to 20 (or whatever) if either side is doing well defensively!

We all know his limitations, stop kidding ourselves!!!
If he improves his kicking he is a very valuable player, I like his run out of the backline, but please don't forget he was a turnover king once.
I hope he kicks at an elite level in 2016, otherwise premierships will become harder to get.
The signs are good albeit a NAB game. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

Yep, this. Kid has shown some great signs over the last couple of seasons but the biggest question mark hanging over him remains and that is his durability. Hopefully he gets an unimpeded run through this season. |
