The Senate is the highlight of this election in my opinion.
However, the bloody Senate paper was way too big for my liking! _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Not Really.
All Pollies are there for Themselves |
I think you are fundamentally wrong there. People get into politics for many different reason. For some it is a career move and starts with a political science degree, employment in a union and then into full stream politics. Most of this is based upon ingrained beliefs. Other maturer individuals get involved in politics because they want to contribute to society in a positive manner from their perspective.
I think the process is very wearing on the individuals concerned as they are under real scrutiny in every aspect of their lives and the press in its own right can be very destructive.
Many with good intentions get side tracked, compromised and frustrated by the process of government and as a result find that they are ineffective and don't achieve what they set out to do. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday

Wow.
Worked a morning shift (meant to be 7am - 3.30 - given no capacity to have a formal break we leave at 3pm) and the 1200 shift called in sick.
Unable to replace.
The 1.30 shift came in at 2.00. I left at 5.17 pm.
Got to the car & drove to Sth Caulfield - voted at 5.55pm.
what a relief. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Labor have taken Lyons, not too surprising considering the Liberals really didn't do anything this campaign to really the people in Lyons. I'd only really heard the Labor party doing any work, I didn't even know who the Liberal guy was until I saw a sign very late in the piece.
Though it didn't help matters there that we were Franklin last election. _________________ avg

Andrew Nikolic gone in Bass, Liberals gone in Tas in general. But ABC has Coalition still leading 72-64 with 5 seats going to independents or Greens and 9 still to be called. Could yet be a hung parliament. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
