In all the discussion of Gault's replacement (and on Friday's showing one is definitely necessary), I am surprised at the lack of love for Cox. Cox looked excellent in the NAB cup, has taken some strong marks in the twos, and he is certainly an alternative ruckman who has shown more forward talent than Grundy or Witts. Will he be slow ? Possibly, but he could also be a devastating weapon. He could in any event do little worse than the wreck of Gi-Gaultar did last week.

c'mon man, it isn't April 1st anymore.

Amid the charming facetiousness, would you like to make a point ? At the end of the NAB 2, commentators with a great deal more football experience than you or I were assuming that Cox's performance made him a starter in Rd1. His last NaB challenge might have questioned that a bit, but he has certainly shown enough to be as much worth a shot as Gault.

^Cox is a worse option than Gault. Much worse.
And Gault is never to be seen again in the ones.......

"Straights of Gi Gaulter" - more "in Dire Straights (of Gi Gaulter)" I'd say!!

Actually Mulwala was where he didn't go.

5 goals is 5 goals and you know it Culprit! Wink

What does Gault add to the team? I don't see any signs of him becoming a great player. He spends most of his time injured or in the vfl and on the off chance that he is selected in the seniors - he goes missing.

Still, we promoted him to the senior list so the club must see 'something' there. Or is it because they've spent so much time on developing him that they don't want to run the risk of giving him up.

I would consider delisting him or trading him at the end of the year.

So where is Gault?? not named in the seniors or reserves....must have been severely concussed. Not looking good for staying on the list next year if he doesn't get a good run in the seniors.
