The Chinese are buying it up and the Indians and Chinese are moving in. By 2050 this country is gonna be very different to now but I'll be dead so I don't care.

The Chinese have been buying up Dairy Farms in Victoria and Tasmania for a few years now. Enjoy cheap Milk whilst you can because soon it will be out of reach for ordinary Australians. Apathetic Australians will wake up when it's all too late. Apathy & Australian go hand in hand. The She'll be right mate attitude is going to ^&%&^ us up Big Time.

^Yeah, those damn communists with their superior IQs and mathematics taking advantage of our supermarket cartels, love of dribbling macho thugs with mining interests telling us what to do, and lovable laziness! I say we re-regulate the dairy industry, put an end to this free market business now, and show 'em what real communism looks like!

Communist dairy cows have been seen heading south. Only tariffs, strict nationalisation and federally-set prices can stop 'em!

Now the farmers are crying poor. A few years back the Farmers didn't mind selling their products and farms to the Chinese at inflated prices. They had the champagne flowing and boasted about profits. Now the Chinese produce their own milk and powder and ship it back home to China who favor dealing with their own (surprise). Now our farmers are losing out and have to rely on the duopoly which they help create are now crying poor due to their own greed.

Most are family businesses and that's all they know. Dairy farming can be a nice earner. The trouble is they sat back and undercut each other so they set up places like Murray Goulbourn to do their dealings and now they have screwed them over.

Also (following on from Culprit) most of the land they're on is only suitable as grazing land. To grow crops would mean a lot of expense clearing and leveling the land to prepare it.

They could raise cattle and/or sheep for meat but again it's a different skill set and to get decent money for the beef would mean starting from scratch with a new herd which would take a fair bit of time and/or money before realising a profit.

The Chinese should never have been allowed to buy up dairy farms in the first place.

They are also taking over fish and chip shops. It's just not on, that's the Greeks domain. Ever bought a souvlaki from Tan Trangs or Mr Wongs?

I noticed that too. When I was a Kid Greeks owned the Fish and Chips shops but they are all owned by Chinese/Asians
