I dont, i always worry about injuries to our players in it, long term ones, yes, i know its good to see the kids strut their stuff, but injury is always a concern for me. Id rather see the real stuff, not a big fan of the pre season comp, never have been really. Exclamation Rolling Eyes

It's footy.

I don't care about the result, I care about looking at how the young blokes are progressing, looking at how the team structures up, whether we seem to have made progress.

It's a pre season comp, glorified practice matches, opportunity to try some things against a real opposition rather than intra club matches.

Some clubs are desperate to sell hope and memberships so you can get a decent standard in some games but for me it's all about the process not the outcome.

Yes I care, I care deeply, I care enough to wake up and feel positive and think, no please not another lost season, I care enough to worry about Marsh, is he limping or was that a trip, I care enough to watch Reid as he disappears off my TV screen, was that a grab at the hammy? I care enough to think 10 point loss isn't that bad, oh wait it's blown out to 40 points now, God it's going to be a negative story in tomorrow's HS, I care enough to wonder was that a duck by Moore or did he misread it? I care enough to think gee Aish really is slow and not hard at it, I care enough to think, gee did we really pay 700k for a plodder? Thought AT was better than that, I care enough to think, Brown, Goldsack, Toovey, MaCaffe & Fasolo, much of the same, I care enough to think Elliott's attitude hasnt change he'll go for sure next year, I care enough to think same old footy game plan by Bucks, will this be the year that I start bagging him.......I care enough!

Yeah, nar. Nar, yeah.

Loved it when we beat Essendon for the cup back in '11.

Would have like to have won it against the Cats in '09 was it? And the Crows in '03.

Now there is no cup to be won. And without a cup to be won, they should scrap it all together, or maybe bring back the lightning premiership where they play for a cup over one or two weekends?

Don't care about the results but love that footy is back. Enjoy seeing what some of the young blokes we've never seen can do - or might offer in the season proper.

Personally would prefer they drop it to max of 2 practice matches and then get on with it. Give us one more home and away round.

I enjoyed it last year as we got to roll the dawks and got a taste as to how good De Goey would be.

Glorified practice match
Dont care about win/loss
Care about injuries
Happy to see players played in new positions
Happy to see players get match practice
Good to see new players start to learn team game and about team mates

Always hope no injures

It was amusing to read melt-downs after we got smashed by Richmond, but like most others, I just want no injuries.

Apart from providing a fix to all those "jonesing" for footy, what use is a game where you don't care about the result? Practice matches would suffice.

I'd rather it was dumped.

I don't mind it. It's a great opportunity for the young blokes to play for Collingwood and show their wares. The form shown is hard can be interpreted in many ways and not necessary indicative of what your team is going to show in mid June, take what you want out of it all! Like Stui and DTM say its footy and I am going to watch it. Always looking forward to see our new recruits in action. Apart from a few season ending injuries ( Caff in 2011) the cup is renowned to be interesting and enjoyable. The best one was when Carlton were showing off their new recruit Nick Stevens winning the Nab Cup with their supporters going "wild" ,2005 I think, only to finish last the same year ........ Razz How good it is to have a long memory!

I don't care who wins or loses in the NAB Cup, as long as I get to see the Maggies play I don't care what it is.

I might get to the Pies/Dogs game though which I am hopeful of. Smile

they're just practice matches. nab has to have something to sponsor as a replacement to the nab cup. i do like them taking footy to the regional areas.
