No chance! Trav's already got a 3 storey place in Kew ... he's clearly worth much more.

Even if the afl stepped in to say back off and stop trying to poach their players; we're trying to rebuild them...again! We would respond with: yeah, with our money. Now get stuffed!

We should stop at nothing in trying to acquire the best talent out there. The dees are a shit stain of a club and will ruin him along with all his other team mates. It's in the best interest of their young recruits that they be poached by other clubs where they'll flourish and at least know the feeling of winning more than 5 games a year.

You'll probably find that Swan, White, Goldsack, Toovey & or Cloke will be pushed out to accommodate any big name player wanting to come to Collingwood next year.

Phew; thank Gawd Blair and Fasolo are off-limits as sweeteners then...

Well I've got a pal who thinks he's in the know and says Essendon will trade two first round picks (which could be 1 and 2 if they finish last and Hooker leaves) and a player who has not yet been agreed on for Hogan and a 4th round pick.

He's been known to be wrong about everything. Oh, he also said that Hooker was expected to go to Perth, but Melbourne want to get him to essentially make it Hooker, pick 1 and 2, and player x for Hogan and a 4th rounder (But Melb are trying to push it back to a 5th rounder).

Have a good day everyone. Shocked Rolling Eyes Wink Cool

That up with the daniel Harford for Rocca and Buckley rumour years ago. Except Hooker and pick 2 can't be part of the deal. no way he is worth number 2 in the draft.

We don't need him. Darcy Moore will be a much, much better full forward.

Once the young high picks put off contract talks I think it sees them wanting to go elsewhere more often than not.

There are exceptions of course, sometimes they just want to play some good footy then demand more coin however, I think on most instances they are keen to head home or elsewhere.

I suspect Hogan will be back west by the end of trade period this year.

Well Freo will be looking to replace Pavlich. I'd love to get him at Pie Land, but I just really hope he leaves Melb. If Hogan does go back to W.A., maybe we should set our sights on Weideman? Twisted Evil

Can we presume Freo are eyeing off McCarthy from GWS for that Pavlich role, it seems they will release him with a year to go on his contract?

Could Freo afford both McCarthy and Hogan? Don't think they would be able to provide enough 1st round picks to secure them both via trade though...

True. I've forgotten about the McCarthy saga. GWS played a little hardball with Treloar, so you think they wont just simply give him away.

Money wise, yes. But satisfying both GWS and Melb? You gotta think that these two guys in the forward line would be a nightmare for other clubs in years to come. (Altho there's a few young gun forwards out there that haven't exactly set the world alight yet).

I suppose either of them could be WCE bound? There could be a bidding war between Freo and WCE for these players. I just hope Collingwood can get involved somehow, but the more I think about it, the more I can see that getting Hogan is a huge long shot:

*Melb would rather not deal with Collingwood.
*He does have an extra year on his contract.
*He is from Perth, so you'd think if he was leaving, it'd be to Freo/WCE. (Altho, look at Aish).
*We wont be able to match other clubs offers in terms of draft picks.
*He does seem, at this stage, to be committed to Melb.

Is there anyone else we can set our sights on?
