I liked the replay and thought lets keep it, but now the AFL season is getting longer and longer, couldn't stand another week so go with extra time.
Whilst its only happened 3 times and was a bit of a novelty in 2010, if it did happen a couple of times it would get annoying very quickly. |

Oh dear yes! We definitely want to get rid of those pesky & inconvenient Replays. They’ve been so bad for us! Nothing but a problem! They’ve never done anything good for Collingwood!
Oh, hang on a minute...
1990...
and
2010. Yeah, that’s right! Two flags...
All of our flags in the last 68 years.
None of us would've seen a flag, except any 75 year olds we have, who would still be hoping to re-live the glory of 1958 when they were boys.
Sides like Sydney & Geelong would smile sadly and laugh at us.
StKilda would have a second flag... again at our expense by less than a goal
West Coast would've screwed us in the 1990 qualifier, and we know how first round losers go.
But hey, if two old & nearly past it guys want it...
PS: They both did some major sucking in the replay! Both had glory in the First game Trav had 2.2 including the heroic, game saving goal. 2nd game... he may as well have watched from the stands, 4 kicks, 1 behind.
Of course if Trav had kicked 3.1 instead of 2.2 there wouldn’t have been a replay.

20 seconds longer in 1977 and we win it. Why would St Kilda have won,It quite easily have been us with the win anyway. Can't see what logic you are using in 1990 either, We had the the ball. Could have Been a coast to coast score, enough to win.

^ Extra time will be 2 x 5 minute quarters RR. If it was next score wins then perhaps you could be right.
I think we are better off under the GF replay rule than we would have been if extra time was in play, yes we could have gained the 1977 flag but we risk losing two flags that we have secured for it (1990 and 2010).

There was no GF replay in 1990. Any reference to that year is beside the point because the AFL introduced extra time for all drawn finals except the GF more or less straight after that. |

Make NO mistake, extra time in 2010 and we would NOT have won the premiership, the saints were all over us like cheap suit, we were tired and rattled, and it showed. Bloody hell, three GF draws in around 120 years, come on, not like its common, what a load of croc. Keep the draw in the GF, its unique and a replay happens very, very rarely anyway.

I would be suprised if they got rid of it, the AFL would only lose money going to extra time.
