Post subject: Double standard from A Current Affair over the DSP | |
|
Early in the Week they had a Women on who Can't Walk, No Appetite and was very ill. She could not get the DSP for some Stupid Reason as she Clearly could not work. So Current Affair trying to help her get the DSP
but
The Double Standards come from CA is most stories they have. They bag people on the Pension and Basically call them Biudgers. Which is very wrong and they are just going with a Stero-Type.

Mate you are so right. Spot on in fact, hence why I have not watched the show for many years now. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Just because it's dark and stormy now doesn't meant that you aren't headed for glorious sunshine! |

The best way to not get angry at the stupidity of ACA is to never watch it. Don't think I've actively watched it since Mike Willesee was the presenter. It used to be a serious Current Affairs program, but now it's just tabloid rubbish. It's the Click Bait of Television. Avoid.
If you're really interested in current affairs (news analysis) then Lateline or 7:30 would probably be the best ones out there. I guess The Project if you prefer it a bit lighter. Sunday was really good, as is/was Four Corners but there are a lot more people willing to watch the bullshit of ACA and the like than to watch serious analysis. |

This is the biggest reason I miss the Chaser 's War on Everything... they used to rip shreds off ACA and TT mercilessly. A bit like shooting fish in a barrel, if fish were really annoying and bad for public health. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Very unlikely to happen Dave, I wouldn't worry too much. Worst case I could see is that they adjust the test of "disabled" so that people who are assessed as able to work go on the dole instead. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

^These things are always stressful to watch, Dave, and can cause a lot of anxiety.
As others have said, about the only thing we can do in these cases is to remember that the people who produce these shows, and cause you to feel fearful and anxious, are complete lowlife scum.
Plenty of good folks support you, Dave, because you're an open and honest communicator. Keep posting your thoughts on these things as you've done. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Dave, i don't think you should worry about this. If you can work, then look for a job, because it's good to work - good for the worker, and good for society. But we all know you have a few difficulties, and so a job might not be possible. DSP is there to help people with real difficulties. It's the characters who get it and don't need it that they're after. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |
