Post subject: We can be contenders in 2017, today's GF proves it | |
|
Does anyone watching today's game still think we are miles away from competing? I think every team in the comp would be watching this and thinking they're not far away. The standard has not been high. Whatsmore both team's success has been built on effort and pressure, which is our number 1 focus and something we do very well when on. Do this consistently and we match the top teams.
I have no concerns about the Dogs or Giants, we can match them. The Swans and Crows were a bit too strong and hard running for us, but I think we can bridge the gap and took steps in the second half of the year.
The top teams are not prime Hawks or Cats anymore, they are very much beatable. The Dogs, Eagles, Giants have all leapt up from 12th or lower into the finals. What we've seen this year is anyone in the finals is a chance given the evenness of the comp. The major challenge will be getting there. I think you'd have to be pretty pessimistic to say we are no chance next season. This is why I support our efforts to draft in experience, we are primed for an assault. _________________ Well done boys! |

If they held this poll at the end on the 2009 season how would you have voted. The fact is that we have a side with a lot of upside. If we recruit well and stay fit anything is possible. Swans lucky to finish second today. They were flogged. And yes, looking forward to 2017 as pies and dogs play a similar style of game. _________________ President - Coffs Harbour Collingwood Supporters Assoc. Inc. |

They have very few players you'd want - but they do seem to have a competent coach. |

Richmond have had 12 coaches in 36 years since their last flag. Obviously changing the coach is all you need to do. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Well, we should be able to give the reigning premiers are run for their money. But we need to stop losing to bottom 8 teams. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |
