Shooting a soldier while parachuting to ground is, as you say a war crime.
|
It's not a war crime, it's more a case of bad manners and bad intelligence. |
I think it is a war crime 3 under Protocol I in addition to the 1949 Geneva Conventions ???
Sure more knowledgable minds here will know for sure if that is correct. _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

It is gutless.
But so is dropping nerve gas on your own people (as the Asad regime did when the people rose up and tried to take their country back.
It was with Russian backing that the Syrian "Arab Spring" was defeated leading to a opposition vacuum that was filled by ISIS.
(They had the weapons and training, ordinary Syrians didn't).
Abbott said this was a case of baddies v baddies.
I've never entirely agreed with anything he ever said but for once in his blighted P.Mship he wasn't far wrong.

'Luftwaffe commander-in-chief Hermann Gring asked Luftwaffe fighter ace Adolf Galland about what he thought about shooting enemy pilots while in their parachutes, even over their own territory. Galland replied that, "I should regard it as murder, Herr Reichsmarschall. I should do everything in my power to disobey such an order". Goeringwho had been a fighter ace himself during World War Isaid, "That is just the reply I had expected from you, Galland".' |

Assad didn't order the chemical weapons strikes, and German Intelligence said they had no evidence 'either way' whether it was rebels or the regime; it was more 'sexed up' intel like Iraq, trying to justify intervention due to 'WMDs'.

As for the 'Arab Spring', I think Libya has proven what a monumental **** up that whole thing was. |

Are you convinced Isis are? ~ oh wait, that's what they are doing deliberately, killing maiming, torturong, civilians |
So we should be just like them?
The passengers of MH17 were almost certainly not deliberately killed. The Russian separatists thought they were hitting a military target. How do you feel about the perpetrators of that act? Fair play, move on? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace

That's a serious question. Do Syrian children not bleed? |
Um, I didn't make any comment either way! I'm just questioning your reasoning! _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

It's a pretty absurd question because obviously I think ISIS are barbaric. That doesn't mean that we should be barbaric in response, though. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Don't think ISIS has any planes? If they get tossed out of aircraft I doubt they will be given parachutes. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |
