Would've loved to have squeezed Leon and Paul Williams in there, but couldnt find room.

T. Shaw misses out b/c he was just too slow for the modern game, and kicking not exactly penetrating.
Presti misses b/c he too had suspect kicking. Would be a liability in today's game.
Clement did play fb on guys like Fevola, and reg towelled him up.
Reid was / is an all Aus CHB, and at his best is so valuable. Sweeping kick out of the back line, Ned or Wakes not as quick or as good a kick.
Maxwell also an AA at his best, and always rose to the occasion. Thought about excluding both prem captains, but he deserves to be in there.
Medhurst prob our best FP, but he was short-lived in a dominating team, and Beams gets the nod for his overall game.
Tarrant also an AA, which Pebs never was.. and again, at his best, kicked more goals, had pace, and marked everything.
Sav ahead of his brother, due to goals kicked and the guy won a copeland.
Wright came close to winning a brownlow, and brings pace and goal kicking off the bench.
Sidey's stats are better than Williams, and he's only getting better. Could play 300 games for us, whilst williams was AA only after he left us.
Licuria won two copelands and gives you inside midfield grunt... and again, I'd have him in before Shaw.
Morwood's stats and skills were elite, and was always highly regarded by teammates and opposition.
Rowdy down back plays tall and never let anything past him... ditto S Burns. Guns.
In fact, my seven favourite players in this side only includes one pure forward - Daicos. The others being Buckley, Pendles, Clement, Swan, Brown and Burns.

I have two points of difference with your side. Presti comes into the 18 and Burns moves to the interchange. Licuria goes out. Anthony Rocca takes the place of his older brother, due to him being an all round better footballer than Sav.

People either have short memories or are massively underrating Gavin Brown.

He was an absolutely outstanding wingman (I remember him tearing South Australia a new one in the 1989 State of Origin to romp in the EJ whitten Medal against some outstanding competition as a young bloke) who due to necessity, because we were so shit in the mid 90's, had to play down back on the oppositions best forward despite often giving away height and weight (he also excelled at that tearing Darren Jarman a new one as a defender to win a second EJ Whitten Medal as well).

Wright was a decent enough player but Browny was a champion and an automatic selection in any best Pies side from any era.

This 100% !!

His best position was Wing, but was a premiership FF and had some absolute cracking games both forward and back.

A couple of games at FF that stand out in my memory were the 1994 ElimF over in Perth where he nearly won the game for us on his own.
Another was a 6 goal(?) game in the second annual ANZAC Day game in '96 when we came from 6 or 7 goals behind to win.

I remember a game at Waverley against the handbags mid-90's when GAblett went nuts and kicked about 6 in the first half, only for the great man Gavin Brown go to him in the second half keeping him virtually kickless.

Great player anywhere you put him.

^ stui's team seems close, but i'd have Craig Kelly at CHB ahead of Ben Reid.

Brown for Didak, who should go the pine in the place of sidebottom or maxwell (great leader, Nick, but that team has leadership in Shaw and Brown).

hard to say re Tarrant. I think there's enough marking power between rocca and cloke, so I'd have Davis (Leon or Nick) in the pocket.

Though it is hard to like the bloke, i'd have Paul Williams ahead of Sidebottom on the bench.

I've adjusted the post Daicos side (1994 to 2014) from our discussions late last year that was posted in this thread above. Players in this side have been replaced by players who played in the 90s and made the 1970 to 2014 team. The only exception to this is Darren Millane as he had just the two seasons to qualify. This means the following changes have been made to create a 1990 to 2015 team from our dicussions last year.
In. S Morwood, G Wright, P Daicos, G Brown
Out. P Williams, D Thomas, A Krakoeur, D Beams
The 30 players that were named in this side, the INXS88 team that was posted to start this thread and the Hearld Sun team quoted by Stui Magpie above are listed below. The number of teams that each player was named in is given in brackets beside their name.
D Beams (1)
G Brown (3)
N Buckley (3)
S Burns (3)
J Clement (3)
T Cloke (3)
G Crosisca (1)
P Daicos (3)
L Davis (2)
A Didak (3)
D Jolly (1)
P Licuria (2)
N Maxwell (3)
M McGuane (2)
D Millane (1)
D Monkhorst (2)
S Morwood (3)
S Pendlebury (3)
S Prestigiacomo (1)
B Reid (1)
A Rocca (3)
S Rocca (2)
S Russell (1)
S Sidebottom (1)
H Shaw (3)
T Shaw (2)
D Swan (3)
C Tarrant (2)
S Wakelin (1)
G Wright (2)

So here’s an attempt to select a combined team from the three teams. Automatic inclusions are the 13 players nominated in all three teams and the 8 players that were named in two out of the three teams. This leaves one spot out of the remaining 9 players who were named once for a spot on the bench. I’ve opted for Presti as there was no genuine full back listed in the 21 players already in the side. Leon has to move from the backline to the bench to make way for him.
Collingwood Team 1990 to 2015.
FB: N Maxwell S Prestigiacomo H Shaw
HB: S Burns J Clement S Morwood
C: G Brown N Buckley G Wright
HF: P Daicos A Rocca A Didak
FF: T Cloke S Rocca C Tarrant
R: D Monkhurst D Swan S Pendlebury
I: P Licuria M McGuane T Shaw L Davis
