Went past the Holden Centre (or whatever it's called these days) and was surprised to see how little there was in the way of signage, flags etc to indicate that it was the current home of Collingwood.
Seems to me that there's an opportunity to promote the club going begging.

A bloody great magpie perched on top of the front of the building would be perfect. And some massive black & white stripes down both side walls would be great.

Better how it is.... Less fanfare the better.... It's a training facility , not a circus.

I take your point but it's more than a training faciliy. It is now the home of the club. It's where the players, coaches, administrators etc are located.

I would rather that they returned to Victoria Park but that's probably never going to happen. May as well move on and embrace the new place wholeheartedly and spruik it up.

Drove passed yesterday and we thought exactly the same thing. There's enormous Holden signage at the freeway entrance, but only a small (by comparison) Collingwood sign. Up above, on the top of the building is the perfect spot for the official symbol. I might add, that they've placed a huge magpie symbol on top of the new glasshouse and it looks terrific. They just need to repeat it on the front of the building.

I think there might be some heritage, council restrictions on where we can place signage. I am sure Eddie would love the whole place covered in stripes and magpies.

I actually understand that it is VicRoads that have placed the signage restrictions on the site.

The main reason is the distraction factor on drivers going past and given the high volume of traffic that passes by I can understand that.

They even stopped us from projecting an image onto the wall at night I believe.

Vicroads = a public service elephant that taxes us senseless, without any accountability; and seeks to restrain the free market business enterprise called Collingwood, who's only crime is to employ Australians and create wealth for our nation. Piss off Vicroads.

Isn't that pathetic.
We live in a totalitarian nanny state.

Vic Roads: It must come under the 'love us or hate us' -driving distraction bylaw. No-one can drive past and concentrate on the road!
