I probably won't bother posting for St Kilda, Melbourne, Brisbane, Carlton and Essendon as I think it is unlikely they will be contenders for the Top 8.

Or maybe just post their "odds" from the bookies for a laugh eh? Razz

PLAYERS OVER 30YO (mid April 2016):
Schultz

As well-rounded as Port’s list is, Jay Schulz has been the Power’s key forward but isn’t known for his contested marking. Dixon is listed at 202cm and provides the monster target Port’s smalls can thrive around. Dixon and Toumpas haven't lived up to their potential but the Power could be rewarded for handing them fresh starts.

The loss of Ryder and Monfries for 2016 has got to hurt their chances of being a contender. As I recall, there is also a question mark over Dixon's ability to play the bulk of the games - I think the Suns previously indicated he might play only 15-16 games per season.

I hear Dixon has hurt his knee - not sure how bad - that could really put a dent in their prospects with Ryder already out.

Cheers for that mate, loved the optimistic outlook on our new young blokes. Very Happy

Also couldn't help noticing this on the Essendon bit:

Quote:
Mitch Brown: The former Cat is likely to slot into a key post down back back with Michael Hurley and Cale Hooker suspended. He has been training in defence but the Bombers will not be afraid to swing him forward if the situation presents itself. Has put on three kilograms since coming into Essendon's system.

Did someone forget to clean out the cupboards in the medical room? Razz

So the predicted 2016 ladder ...

Hawthorn 19-3
West Coast 17-5
Fremantle 15-7
Geelong 14-8
Collingwood 14-8
Sydney 13-9
Richmond 13-9
Western Bulldogs 12-10
Norf 11-11
Adelaide 11-11
GWS 11-11
Port Adelaide 10-12
Gold Coast 9-13
also rans

12 wins (may also need percentage) gets you in the 8 and 14 wins plus percentage gets you a Top 4 spot.

If I am close to correct with these predictions, then games against Geelong, Sydney, Richmond (twice), Bulldogs (twice),Norf, Adelaide and GWS will potentially take on extra significance in terms of shaping the 8 and our position in it.

Stumbled across a nice little fixture preview here that I missed previously: http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/2015-10-29/2016-fixture-every-round-analysed

Round 6 could well be a "player management" round for us.

Round 23 could well be a GF preview ...

That's 7 days before we play Cats, which makes sense, but surely there will be more than one intra-club game??? Didn't we play 2 intra-clubs and a game vs AIS in a pre-season not long ago?
