Over the past 12 months, Travis Dean has been a dominant figure in second XI matches, amassing scores of 217*, 116 and 187* in his three most recent games before his Shield call-up.

He became the first ever batsman to score twin centuries in a Sheffield Shield match when picked in the Victorian team to play Q'land, ahead of Aaron Finch.

Both batsmen prospered.

Dean scored 154 n.o. and 109 n.o. Finch scored 288 n.o. against the New Zealanders in Sydney.

Dean becomes the second batsman to achieve the feat, after Arthur Morris. Morris scored debut tons in a first class match but not a Shield game.

The opposition hit 444 before you get a go. Not only did you hit a century on debut, you progressed to 154 n.o. Fantastic debut !
