i think you just noticed him more because he was wearing a helmet. It was a pretty typical Aish game if you ask me. A lot of what he (and Degoey for that matter) does goes unnoticed by a lot of folks here.

He will be a gem for us as he continues to build over consecutive pre-seasons. each year you will see improvement and then one day you'll notice that he is elite.

this year he will be solidly in our best 22 by the end of the season.

+1. Been saying the same for a while

He lacks badly for leg speed - I'm not sure whether that can be overcome, despite all his other qualities. Sometimes a player can deal with that by controlling the space around them (as, say, Luke Ball did) but that isn't (yet) Aish's style, either.

Did not hurt Paul Licruia and Tarkyn Lockyer.

Guess Scharanberg is stuffed then as he not much faster

Sam Mitchell says hi.

I was trying to Prove that Speed is not everything like what the Quote Post was Saying

Sam Mitchell says hi Dave.

FYI, Sam Mitchell is quite slow.

Yes, Dave, players do overcome it. It remains to be seen whether Aish will.

Was going to ref Mitchell myself in response to leg speed - dont forget, Mitchell started slower than Aish. Not drafted 2000, rising star inn 2003.

Im not saying hes gonna be a Mitchell ( hope he will ) just saying I dont think leg speed will restrict him given his other strengths.

Aish is a good handy player.
Can't ever see him being an A grader or elite.g

He's a footballer, not an athlete.
I'm not fretting when he has the ball in his hands, I'm looking upfield to see what's on offer, you can't do that with a lot of others in our side.
Firmly in our best 22 presently and will make the transition into a highly influential player over the years, IMO.

Was Greg Williams a freak too? We can keep going on and on.

Raw speed off a standing position is important, but fast decision making is equally important.

Greg Williams was a definite freak.
Pity about his head injuries, not looking good for him.
The guy Aish played with a facial injury that was only a few weeks old.
Takes great guts to do that.
The guy looks too light and slow to me.
Yes he has good hands and raw guts, I just can't see him being a top player.
He might make 100 to 150 games player.

I'm not sure about him either, but I thought last Monday showed he might yet become a good player for us. It was his best game yet imo.

Tony Shaw was slow, Peter Daicos was glacial... Pendles is really slow in case you havent noticed..... Leg speed is so overrated. Every team needs a few speedsters to break lines and to stop the other team;s speedsters, but for the moast part, lack of speed wont hurt you.

Mind you, for Treloar, his speed is an added bow in his quiver of skills, so it certainly doesnt hurt.
