2nd Best in VFL

You're kidding Dave.

Witts and Marsh were easily our best and there 3 or 4 other (mainly) VFL listed players who were next in line. Aish played a pretty good game, but let's not get carried away Dave.

Aish is seriously highly talented. You don't have to be Nostradamus to predict a very bright future for him. He may not break out this year, but at some point he will demonstrate his talent in the senior side.

^ yep, watch the Melbourne game. He has it, it's just not developed enough yet. Aish and Scharenberg are the big unexposed upside on our current list.

Dave can you please change the thread title as it's clearly untrue and rather insulting to the lad.

+1.

Just a journo trying to sell papers. Actually I think they have stopped Mon-Friday, any wonder with this rubbish.

We were into him with the Beams trade, but they wouldn't let him go.

Please Dave change the title.

Starts the year in the VFL.

Comes in against Richmond.

Has a good game against Melbourne gaining 21 disposals.

Is dropped after Essendon game.

Instead of trying to get form in the VFL, they put him on a plane to Perth.

He comes in off no game time in the VFL and plays against Carlton.

Is then dropped again.

This yo/yo type selection does nothing for his development.

Yeah, bloody rude of Bucks to arrange for all those injuries which necessitated other players getting senior games when they weren't perhaps ready. What was he thinking?

Forget Aish, does anyone here think that Treloar isn't worth two first-round picks?

I'd do that deal again in a heartbeat, he shows all the signs of being our next truly elite player.

As a wise man once said " the ox is slow but the earth is patient. "

I was and still am excited about James Aish. When we gave up two 2nd rounders for him I was very happy indeed. The cream will rise to the top.
James Aish will be a 200+ game player.

Go to google or You Tube and type in James Aish highlights.

He is a natural footballer. You will see he reads the game very well. He kicks off both feet. He gets the hard ball as well as being an outside player.

Once he puts on some weight and gets adjusted to his surrounds he will repay our patience. He was nominated for a rising star award and dominated underage competitions.
I believe he has got what it takes and just needs a bit of confidence, he will have a breakout game in 2016!!

^^ Yep, agree. May take a little bit, but I still think he will be a very good player.

Who knows, maybe he and Scharenberg will both have a big impact for us next year. I've been skeptical about the worth of them both since they came to us, but clearly the recruiters have rated them so let's hope they are right. Given our draft selections this year will be severely compromised (having given up prized draft picks), the emergence of Scharenberg, a more confident Aish, and a mature and hungry Keeffe, could amount to 3 'new' prized recruits. Maybe even Sier will be a surpsise packet too?

Aish is an elite talent. They obviously wanted him - it appears they hoped to draft him in 2013, tried to get him as part of the Beams deal in 2014 and then they did what they felt they had to do last year. They may prove to be wrong, of course, but they clearly think he is a potential star. Why don't we all just wait and see?

I think James Aish is travelling a little bit similar to the way Bryce Gibbs started his journey. Both high quality football pedigrees from SA and huge expectations from the supporters.I know a lot of Carlton supporters would have been happy to see the back of Gibbs in his early days.I doubt very much they would be even thinking that thought these days. Aish will be no different and will be our X factor player.I like him.

The ox may be slow, but he had a damn good game on the weekend...
