That works too. I'm sure Stevo wants his childhood number 16?

He's said so, yes. Depends whether Mayne has some connection to the number.

I think it's the right move for him and the club. Difficult to read his form last half of the year, I'm not sure his heart was in it? If it was, he's well and truly finished.

What makes you think that gifting them an erratic, injury-prone player who only fires for ten minutes at a time once or twice a month, can't run, and doesn't man up isn't a poison pill? The really nice thing about it is that they will see his occasional flashes of brilliance and think he's the answer and keep on playing him for far too long. Hell, this is Carlton. They are not very bright down there, they'll probably take years to wake up.

And you know what the really good bit is? They are giving us a pick!

Sweet.

(And good for Fas too. The reality is that he's a very good SANFL / VFL/ WAFL level player, but he's going to get another couple of years, maybe longer, playing AFL, on AFL coin. Good for him.)

Pick 57 is good for us IMO. Fas will be good depth for Carlton but you would think he shouldn't be in their best 22 on current form. Always sad to see players go and always sad to see Carlton get anything but I kinda think this is a bit of a non issue in a lot of ways and we were lucky to get pick 57 that we might even be able to use!

Perhaps we’ll strike it lucky and get an Embley, rather than a Parthenides with the pick. Looking through the list of names taken at 57 over the years isn’t too inspiring. Then again, neither was Fasolo, which is, I suppose, why he was originally a pick 45.

Good luck, but Carlton ffs.

I have a jumper with his name and number on the back... guess it goes next to my Dawes 31 jumper.

Funnily enough I was given a Mayne 16 jumper the day before the GF and now we're talking about him changing numbers. Laughing

True, very true, aka that bastard President of theirs, that mongrel George Harris, post the 79 GF, the cheating Harmes incident, the prick said, " whats better than beating the Pies by ten goals in a Grand final, beating em by five points, ha ha ha ha ha ha"

Stuff them and up yours Fas, we don't forget, the hate for the scum, we don't ever, ever, ever ever, forget. Mad Surprised

Fasolo will be a more than handy pickup for Carlton I suspect and prove the doubters wrong.

He just generates shots on goal.

Hes also now very injury prone, they will find that out, soon enough. Surprised

just like with us, it all depends on injuries. Carlton can take that risk more than we need to. If Faz is fit, he MIGHT get on the park for us. If Faz is fit for Carlton, he becomes clearly their best forward!!!!
