The first two took a while to get going, plenty of doubts plenty of trade talk but their clubs kept the faith, kept patience and consequently are reaping and have reaped the benefits of persisting with a KPF.
I think Jesse can follow their lead and be an much better than average player for us. If he does, with the other talent we are building, our side looks very lethal.

You may be right. He just lacks that little bit of class but maybe another pre-season and some quality work could see him improve. Needs to be taking contested marks and busting packs open.

Valid points i guess re the age difference but might just be a late bloomer. I just can't believe that someone blessed with so much ability can't get close to his potential at a club which has done so much for rookies let alone players of his experience.

If he can't take a mark now, he'll never take one. Both he and Dawes are cut from the same cloth.

he actually isn't as talented as his natural gifts suggest.

Two big talents in footy are the ability to get to the fall of the ball and the ability to mark. Being able to do both at the same time is what makes forwards great players. Jesse White might be the worst player in the league at executing this skill. And he even struggles to do either of them regularly, although he can take a mark if it is kicked to the perfect spot for him.

Opponents actually love it when Jesse White leads to the ball because they know he will run right under it and they can follow 5 metres behind him and mark unopposed. Or they let him go for the mark on the move and it will bounce right off his hands and into theirs.

Its sad to see a guy with such natural ability fail in the most important skillset that a key forward in the AFL needs.

His biggest problem is the fact that he's actually a girl, and a damn ugly one at that.

Strengths:
-Explosive pace for his size
-Powerful runner
-Very good leap
-Gets hands to ball in contested high balls frequently
-Agile
-Straight kick at goal from tight angles
-Reasonably good small man skills
-Good at running forward on a fast break to goal

Weaknesses
-Often has hard hands and double grabs some uncontested marks
-Spends a lot of energy getting into positions to mark and then doesn't
-Has little influence on games for long periods
-Self-belief doesn't appear to match ability
-Decision making at times belies his age and experience
-Plays with a lack of direction at times
-Unreliable set shot when team is under scoreboard pressure

Many of these weaknesses should have been fixed by 27. Because they are not they are unlikely to be before he finishes his career. It appears the lack of footy smarts, focus and self belief have and will limit his impact indefinitely.

I think we look a much better team when he's in the side. Not every player needs to be a star or magnificent contested mark to contribute and I think this year he's shown more aggression and competes really well in 50/50 contests. He can also hold his own in the ruck. He's a dangerous and unpredictable player with a little X-factor in a side that's sorely lacking that kind of thing.

He not going to be the kind of player who dominates week-in, week-out but all we want from him is to play a role. I still think he'd be damaging if he played mostly off a wing. You've got a guy who can be a good second target up forward, play ruck and in my opinion, play on a wing. That's more that can be said about most other players who can only play their one position.

It's time people start focusing on his strengths rather than his weaknesses. Glass half empty / half full. I think it's half full and he's going to be an important part of our next finals push. He's also not very injury prone which is very important too.

Sad but true
