It's not such a bad thing.
All stereotypes are borne from some smidgen of truth, with the most humorous parts exaggerated.

David's Susie O'Brien article posted in the movie thread is a fair example I reckon.
And the subsequent dissection of it I see as evidence of a sense of humour comparable to a large boulder. Laughing Laughing
Seemingly, those that take their cinema too seriously also take themselves too seriously! Laughing Laughing

Here's another example of stereotyping from the VPT's favourite columnist!! Very Happy
Some of these "observations" might be easier for some to laugh at this time though.

"LOCK up your daughters. Tune the air guitar. Comb the mullet. The Bogan is Back. ................"

One of my favourite sayings in life - "If you can't laugh at yourself, you don't have the right to laugh at anyone else."

I can't tell if she's taking the piss, but I agree with her premise. Like so much she writes though it all seems kind of pointless and meanders off like she lost interest in it, just hit 'send' and went to bed.

Lol. Thanks mate.
Here's another stereotype you can go with - Monkeys aren't all that tech-savvy, even The King!!

A lame rehash of "things bogans like". A sharp satirist Susie is not.

Never claimed the article to be "sharp satire".

Sometimes it's ok to just have a cheap laugh....

I reckon your dissection of her "wanker artsy movies" article was more of a "facepalm" moment than anything I've seen her write!! Razz

If you start taking columnists such as S.O'B., Andrew Bolt, Rita Panahi, etc, too seriously, then you're as dense as the people you're looking down on that hang off every word with a fist-pump and a "yeah!"!! Laughing
These columnists are writing for a reaction.
I liken it to those that get upset at KB's takes on SEN.

It's all theatre!!!!!!!
