Where'd you pull that figure from?
I heard a representative of the union talking on MMM this morning, one of the issues she raised was the Andrews government decree that public transport run 24 hours on weekends starting from next year and that they haven't got clarity with Metro about what conditions/penalties would be applicable. I've had enough experience with union negotiations to take anything said publically with a large grain of salt, but on the surface it would seem a legit sticking point. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

17% increase over four years but they are apparently striking over the conditions, one of them being the routes drivers are trained on. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

I think the sticking point is some "perks" that need to be given up.
The increase is thereabouts.
Free public transport for the extended family and a special access diluted coffee and outdated Doritos from the vending machines at stations shouldn't be handed over lightly. |

Crikey, you need to get a new financial advisor, then.
Everything from the Dow and housing prices, to pension funds and CEO compensation have outstripped that by absolute miles over time—recessions, crises, the GFC and the recent dip notwithstanding.
Meanwhile, real wages have been virtually flat for years on end, even as productivity has gone up.
