One of our own fellow Nicksters, the considered Dr Pie is a joint editor of a new book that was launched last month:

"Sport in Victoria, a History"

From the Readings website:

(Dr) Dave Nadel, Graeme Ryan

This book, the result of contributions from a wide range of sports writers, officials and historians, relates the fascinating history of over 100 sports played in Victoria since the 1830s. It also covers the important events, venues, clubs and leagues which characterise Victoria’s sporting culture.

It covers a range of sports & AFL clubs including Collingwood.
Available from good bookstores & online at

Well done Dr Pie.

Nice can he give us free copies? (Realism levels at an all time low due to reading trade/draft threads)

No, we're going to give a couple of freebies to Brisbane for Aish - this a very valuable book we're talking about.

Good stuff, WPT. Have missed Dr Pie's presence on here - seems he had a pretty good excuse! Smile

Well done Doc. Now it's time to get back to Nick's; many of us have missed your posts.

I always though Dr Pie was Dr Alf Andrews for some reason.

Ah yes the infamous Dr Alf Andrews
hasn't officially posted here since about 2008.
Related to a doctor Grouse his alto ego from Big Footy.
Spiritual home of Geelong same as Hiss.
It is a funny little web weaved by the insiders of Nicks.
