Great to see Menzel come back for the Cats after four - count 'em, four - knee reconstructions and snag a lazy four.

And better still to see it happen on the night we finally put these has-beens away where they belong.

Thanks for that. Didn't realise he was playing, the commentators barely mentioned it Wink.

Happy to be wrong, we look disinterested last week and to turn it around is a big effort.

So that's settled is it? Treloar to Richmond and Dangerfield to Collingwood. No one will want to play for the Cats, they're done.

Duncan and Caddy were missing tonight so we dominated the midfield as we should.

Geelong will be hoping Dangerfield doesn't change his mind though.

It's an interesting one. Hard to see the Cats competing in the next couple of years even if they sign Dangerfield. Would be a risky move.

79 more kicks, almost double the clearances (centre clearances 15 to 9 and stoppages a whopping 26 to 12), 50 inside 50s to 39, hit-outs 33 to 23, contested possessions 147 to 131 and the 'Pies still won the tackle count 70 to 51.

De Goey was absolutely massive at the contest, tonight - an amazing effort to play like that in the heat of the battle against a side playing for its finals life. Special mention to Greenwood for his job sweating on Dead-Duckwood.

Memo to the coaching staff - next time, please play someone on Menzel: I know he'll probably do his ACL again before he plays against us next but it might be a good thing to have a plan B.

It's going to be interesting to compare the two approaches to rebuilding over the next couple of years.

I'd rather be in our position than the Cat's.

Great response by the Pies. Pride was on the line.

To those who were tipping a 12 goal shellacking - and you know who you are- hang your head in shame😄

Mark Stevens just said club has assessed as a low-medium medial so that's likely season.
