i am going to use this thread to highlight instances of "interestingly" worded paragraphs and statements.

from a news.com.au opinion piece about (and describing) joe hockey:

Apart from being over-kind to Hockey, nothing in the slightest wrong with that one. But I can see this turning into a mega thread. The very thing I need to release my inner grammar nazi. And, John No-Capitals Wren, it is all your fault!

the actual point of the quote was the use of the term "flog" which i have not before seen used in a news article. in the comments section it is common.

Fair enough. I'd suggest that any term mainstream enough to get past my hyperactive grammar radar is probably good enough for the Queen to use in a Christmas Speech, but there you go. If we can't argue about grammar, why even bother having it? Hockey certainly has no need for it, he could communicate every bit as well as he does now well using a suitable mixture of snortz, gruntz fartz and belchez, probably even better.
