Sorry. It is an extraordinarily weak argument for the proposition that George Christensen is a moron. I'm not saying it's wrong and I'm certainly not saying that George Christensen isn't a moron, I'm just pointing out that there are many far stronger and more conclusive arguments to use if one wishes to demonstrate the odiously obvious. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

That article only mentions economic and employment effects and hardly gives a rousing endorsement (although the author desperately wants to). It doesn't mention the social and cultural impact of mass immigration. Ask people from some areas of Melbourne who now have to deal with roving gangs of African youths what they think of the situation (I've spoken to police from Sunshine, I can tell you it's worse than you hear).
Now 10,000 doesn't seem like much, and if they're settled all over the place then no worries, in fact I'd see us as helping prevent a HUGE demographic shift in Western Europe but to suggest that there will be no negative impact from refugee settlement is bleeding heart, pie in the sky nonsense.
I also didn't see any refutation of the guy's core argument that there is little difference to saying Chinese free trade immigrants will effect Australian jobs but refugee immigrants wont, and no, calling someone a moron isn't an argument. |

Gotta say, this was a cracker (from the article WPT posted):

If you have a look at yourself in the mirror you'll see how easy it is for people to pose as Christians. |

It's not as round as Senator Christensen.
I agree with the thrust of the article - but as usual, it's apparently not possible to just refute the argument. Just look at the headline "moronic lesser minds... " etc. That's really just abuse masquerading as serious comment. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Circle of life. Your taxes pay for the drugs and alcohol that the people who end up at your work take. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I live in Sunshine.
Remember about 2 years back when Melbourne hit the news in India as a racist place because Indian students were being bashed and robbed??
Take a wild guess who was doing the bashing and robbing. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

I agree. The unfortunate thing is that this particular moron really does deserve the abuse. To the best of my knowledge, he is the most stupid and dangerous backbencher in parliament - and considering that he sits alongside such noted dills and dingbats as Senator Day and Senator Bestiality, that's quite an achievement.
But nowhere in this article do we see him charged with any of the several really nasty idiocies he is guilty of. It's a bit like seeing a serial rapist charged with doing a bank robbery in Burwood when he was in Queensland at the time. You know he's a nasty piece of work, you know he deserves to do some serious gaol time, but the correct verdict is, unfortunately, not guilty. _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |
