Heard Wallace on SEN this arvo say that Hawthorn are cooking up a big deal. Could it be Dangerfield or someone else? Mooney was also on SEN with Ox and Mark Allen saying that crazy numbers like 700k a season are being tossed around for Jake Carlisle.

Wallace has been saying that on that same program he does after the 3pm on news on Thursdays every week for about the last 4 to 6 weeks or so, I believe. His view is, as I understand it, based on circumstantial matters, including, in particular, Hawthorn's support for future-pick trading and the salary cap money freed up by Franklin's departure. I don't think he has any "inside mail" (or, if he does, he's not disclosing any of it on radio).

Brions have parted ways with Adcock.

Also Redden apparently considering his future.

I would think that Redden would be exactly what we are after.

Geez and apparently Leuenberger won't have his contract renewed.

Well Cuthbert Collingwood stated it was a shocking culture at Brisbane and linked it to a sexist 1970's fraternity style culture.
I said that was pathetic but something is not right in Kansas.

Leuneberger, Adcock, Redden gone think they might be looking at young players with some AFL experience enter Mr Seedsman/Oxley or 1 player + 2nd rd pick for Aish sounds like a decent deal to me

I would just LOVE to get Aish, I'd certainly like to get Treloar, but I'd also be happy if no changes at all were made to one of the best lists we've had since 2011. Crisp and Varcoe have been absolute revelations, as has Tay-tay; DeGoey has proven to be another great pick by Dekka, and Shaz, Maynard, and Marsh have shown mighty promising signs in just a couple of games, as has Levi despite missing most of the season. Moore is undoubtedly going to be a gun, and Cox's development has been close to unbelievable, earning him at least one BOG in his first ten games.

Our list has zero spaces. For the first time in god knows how long numbers 1-40 are occupied, and as things stand DeGoey is looking at having to wear number 47 next year.

Of course things don't happen like that at Collingwood, and we have some cock-ups to make, which will no doubt happen at de-listing time.
Guys in danger of being the victims of these cock-ups are BenKen, Dwyer, White, Young, Armstrong, Karnezsis, Seedy, & Gault. Of these I believe Young has probably failed to impress the most, his legendary long boot being awfully inaccurate, but then he's certainly a Buckley favourite and had a very good game in the Magoos last week. Armstrong has had many good games in the twos, but can't get a look in at senior level. Paddy K and BenKen have both managed a couple of games at the top level, but mostly they copped the vest or had ordinary games in games where the whole side was ordinary. I believe both need more chances, DeGoey didn't do much in his first few, but has found his feet recently. BenKen certainly has more chance of being trade bait than Armstrong or Paddy, and I do believe he latter has buckets of skill and is a goal kicker, something we don't have much of. White has certainly had a better year than last season, and can dominate a game, he just hasn’t yet. I hope we keep him, and find a coach who can get the best out of him. Manteit and Abbot haven't had a look in yet, but the former has had some big games in the twos and Abbot - a future Cloke type - kicked 6 in one of his last games before a season-ending injury. Matt Goodyear has also performed in the twos and was an emergency for the big time early on, he certainly needs more time, Seedy and Gault both started the season well early, but injuries stopped Gault and he hasn’t been able to get back into the ones. Seedy, having won the Anzac medal, has had a hard time repeating that form, but has also seen a lot of the Green vest, something no player enjoys. God I hope that thing disappear next year!
I can see some of these guys, maybe Gault, BenKen, and Seedy, being put on the trade table, but I do hope we keep BenKen, theres a great player in that kid, he just needs time, and a few more games without that green monstrosity. Last of all we have Freeman, and again, I'd hate to lose him, his form in the twos wasn’t great this year but he's still injured. He was absolutely manic pre-season, and he certainly has huge speed if he can get confidence in his legs.

I hope nothing much changes, but I'm not confident. We also seem to be heading toward having a whole team of great mids, but how many can we have? Frankly I don't know. But Aish and Treloar would be two more, I wonder what's going to be done with Keefe and Thomas? Both could still be great players, and their idiotically unfair penalties (thanks to their Black and White stripes) shouldn’t mean the end of their careers. Keefe in particular was becoming a wonderfully reliable back who was great overhead, and allowed Reid to go forward.

So what happens if we trade our first and second round picks and don't use any others in the famously shallow draft? Who wears 35?

Tom Bell looks likely to end up at the Brions.

With the ongoing injury concerns with Reid I think we have to go after Henderson, he should be our no1 priority IMO, he's the right age, he can kick and he can play fwd and back, he would revel being the no3 fwd-back, I would give up next years first rounder for him (pick 18 )

PK can kick and I see that James Sicily kicked a bag of goals in the VFL for the Hawks.
James Sicily is also an awesome kick of the ball.
And so the continuation of good kicking by Hawthorn by recruiting good kickers continues.
It is simple really.
