Most of the world disagrees with you and would consider you to be the "nutter".

An EPL a day keeps the Doctor away.

I think your kids will be fine.

Lots of people like more than one code.

AFL, Soccer, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Basketball.

Look at Pendles. Grew up loving Basketball but also AFL.

Long term the work you have done indoctrinating them into the AFL in that 0-5 age group will pay dividends! Very Happy

How we can learn from EPL.

My kids lost interest in afl and now religiously watch EPL where in past they couldn't get enough of afl and Collingwood.

They constantly play Fifa where afl doesn't have a console game of high quality.

I'm sure this isn't just my problem across yourh of today.

So how do we fight back to save our great game.

Some suggestions I came up with.

We need a game developed similar to Fifa that captures imagination of kids, this is where Fifa is winning over our kids.

A 34 round season - everyone plays twice - I think EPL season 38 rounds. A fair competition equals more interest otherwise it's a contrived draw.

Grand final between top 2.( still need a granny I believe even though EPL has premier based on end ladder )

If it's good enough for biggest code in world why can't it work for afl.

With the extra revenue from season don't need finals and uneven ground advantages. Grand final played at minor premier home ground.

No or limited preseason games or take our preseason games to England or USA . They come here why don't we take our preseason games there rather than the outback ??

Quarters - 20 minutes plus injury time only.

16 players + 8 interchange.

Rotation limited to 4 per player. After 4 player out of game.

Thoughts ??

I blame the parents.

I had them in Collingwood jumpers before they could walk,

Took them to Auskick in their Collingwood jumpers.

Took them to Collingwood games in their Collingwood jumpers.

They started playing under 12 , under 14 and under 16 footy , every night they trained in their Collingwood jumpers.

Now the Collingwood jumpers are in the bottom cupboard and they are wearing Liverpool flaming jumpers.

I now have to watch EPL games on fox and try to sneak in a free to air Collingwood game or have to take my wife to footy who is a Carlton supporter.

Why have they forsaken me , why why !!

Wouldn't it be easier just to disinherit them and start another family?

+1

Most 'soccer' haters say the game is boring yet they love cricket?

I'm a huge cricket fan too but I suppose it's what one has grown up on, maybe I'm just lucky.

The again, don't ask me about Rugby, don't know & don't care.

I'd rather watch Rugby, league or Union, any day over soccer and I don't watch either very much. Hell, I'd watch lawn bowls, snooker, darts or even curling over soccer.

Ditto!

I managed to watch 2 whole games of Johnny in the rugby World Cup a few years back, watched a couple of gridiron Matches, mainly trying to figure out what position the refrigerator was, I tried to watch some big soccer game, I think the one the Aussies were in when they had their best shot at the World Cup thing, OMG. So slow. So boring. Yeah yeah ball skills, I'd rather watch the Harlem globe trotters!

And all that soft as shit sooking?

The violent over the top crowd are the most exciting thing about the game.

Fixing footy? That's exactly what needs to happen. Stop fixing it. Stop the AFL fixing games with Cola, with extra cap allowances of any kind, stop fixing the rules. Don't change the rules every time a team figures out a game plan around them. Go back to real footy. This hand in the back shit is ruining the game. A fair bumps a fair bump, if the balls there, the eyes are on the ball, and someone gets knocked out, well bugger,, but that's footy. Stop the sniping, take that shit out the game. Stevie j I'm looking right at you. And, A.........oh no, can't go there! And the next time Selwood ducks for a free, or anyone else for that matter, the umpire stops the game, demands a replay on the big screen, and in slow mo three times, and then Yells boooooo in his $£$%^%%$ ear, and gives a 100 metre penalty the other way. Ok, 75.

Oh and grow some balls over this Essendon shit. Close the gates today, and they can start training in March, next year, with Hird never allowed to step on grass anywhere ever again, not even at his Paris mistresses place.
