New ball 'should' take care of the rest, then we get to collapse like a house of cards again.

It didn't seem that long ago that Shane Watson was our biggest problem. The problems obviously go deeper.

Perhaps the next Ashes series in England we need to pick a few more players that can actually play in English conditions.

Chris Rogers has played well. The rest of the team seem to have problems with their technique that gets exposed when the ball swings.

Looking at the Australians who are currently playing in England County Cricket, surely few from this list would have been better.

^Or leave a little bit of grass on a few Shield decks so Australian cricketers at FC level can develop an all round game instead of most becoming flat track bullies.

And pick blokes that can play a role in foreign conditions but aren't the traditional Aussie attacking players..
Guys like Cowan, Klinger and Khawaja accumulate runs rather than dominate the bowling, but that's not good enough for Australian cricket.

Some of the thinking has to change.
Bull-at-a-gate isn't always the best way.

Even the bowling - Broad put the ball in the correct areas and let natural variation do the rest, where as we tried to blast them out and bowled all over the shop.

England bowlers not content with humiliating Australia with their bowling... now spanking it to all corners of the park with the bat. Sixes, fours.
