Elliott up forward has huge X-factor… he is now unfortunately more of an unknown - like what is wrong with him?
If he was on his game we would have won one or two of those honourable losses and he was certainly needed to fire in the recent games against the dogs and dees!
Give Marsh a game down back… he has some toe and deserves a go. _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

Right now, I'd settle for some factor of any kind. |

We dont have any x factor provided you ignore Pendlebury Varcoe Elliot Fasolo and potentially Moore and Broomhead.
Exciting small forwards end up in middle unless injuries affect them
Or towards the end of their careers
If you know of any players that can kick 10 + goals at junior levels let the club know. Hopefully they will last until we can draft them. Of course every clubs talent scouts will already have watched them play. _________________ Carlscum 120 years being cheating scum |

A bloke called Motlop at Geelong is good mates with Varcoe, is out of contract, and has some 'X' Factor... _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Yes. He'd be a great get - not least because he has "small forward" pace but isn't that small. He's a reasonable upgrade on Stokes, so there's no doubt he is capable of doing the job on the big stage.
It may or may not be better for the team as a whole to recruit Motlop than to recruit Treloar - but it would certainly make for more watchable football, regardless of the result. |

Been saying we need X we also need another tall who can mark....
But when your coaches attitude is process by process (wateva the f@k that process might be) i'm not real sure he's gonna go chasing X......
X ain't process driven...X is instinct driven...and i'm pretty sure that don't sit well with the boss....

Cyril, Betts, etc wouldn't get near the ball the way we deliver it. |
I agree. Wholesale changes won't do it. it comes down to how the team operates as a unit not weather or not someone can bob up with a bit of dazzle dazzle. |

I don't agree. Since Krak left, we have had no-one at the fall of the ball from Cloke's contests. There's 30 goals a year, minimum, from a competent medium-small forward, out of nothing. The thing that gets missed about the team "operating as a unit" is that the guy who kicks the "team goal" at the end of a good piece of play just happens to be kicking the goal, whereas the guy who creates one from a crumb is getting a goal that most other players wouldn't get. |

How about Chris Yarran? I think he'd go alright in the forward pocket if he was given a chance and he's getable. |

Yes. He's a skillful player with elite speed. That's X factor isn't it? |

Absolutely not. He'd be great in a good team. You can't blame him for dropping his head at his current basketcase of a club. |

I'm not interested in paying a high price for a flashy small forward. A free agent would be fine, but too many of these x-factor types get picked up outside of the top 30 in the draft to make trading for them practical.
Steve Motlop, Michael Walters and Charlie Cameron are 3 recent examples. I reckon we just need to draft one, they seem to come on really quickly. |
