This would rip the very heart out of the club. A ridiculous suggestion at every level.

It proves that despite what we all say, emotion and loyalty does have a large part to play, and it's driven by the quality of the player. It might be a good trade, but no way, never.

We won't win a flag with Pendlebury as captain. That's the harsh truth.
Mercurial player at times but not a leader of men.
Is Bucks a man manager? That's the other millstone around the Pies neck.

i would suggest bucks is a better man manager than pendles is a leader of men but you would need to understand why the club picked pendles. i don't have any insight but see it similar to the judd captaincy in him leading a young team and setting an example in how to prepare. pendles does not strike me as a "follow me" leader. that's not a knock of him because leadership comes in all shapes and sizes.

This is one of the stupidest ideas to be suggested on Nicks and that is saying a lot.

Why put up trade ideas a few hours after a disappointing loss?

not such a silly idea but one that is unlikely to be entertained by those who actually make the decisions.

as for the timing, it's time we move on, look forward to what can improve the list. today's game pretty much summed up our season and nothing to write home about.

Not silly? Sure it is. To trade the face of the club is a desperation move and one which needs strong justification. From the OP's comments it seems to be over his "captaincy credentials", well Dangerfield isn't exactly seen as a "leader of men" himself, so that deal wouldn't make much sense. A blow-in captain is rarely a good idea either. As good as Judd was at Carlton he seriously hurt the development of their young players as they never had to take responsibility.

If Pendles isn't a good enough captain give it to someone else. No need to trade our best player.

I doubt this suggestion is actually serious anyway.

This is one of those threads that might've sounded good in your mind but is totally, pants on head stupid.
