Put it this way.If Nathan Buckley wasn't a champion Collingwood footballer and a favouite of Eddie's,would he still be coach today, given his record over the last four years?I think the answer to that is no.

He wouldn't have got the job in the first place!!

Are we a football club that demands the highest quality people to drive us forward.

FFS - this is 4 consecutive years of no improvement, after a 2 year apprenticeship.

What is it going to take?

5 or 6 years of failing to live up to expectations?

How long has it taken Hardwick to get Richmond to to the position they are in now?

He took the worst list in the comp, not a double grand final side?

I thought the rant from lenny20 was great.
Can we copy and paste it on to here?

Rubbish. He has had the same side for well over 5 years and now they are playing well. FWIW I think Buckleys position should be reviewed.

Not sure how it's rubbish, he took over the team from Terry Wallace that was said to be the worst list since Fitzroy

He's had literally the same list for at least 5 years now and only now they are starting to show the rewards

The first team he coached has about 6 players still playing?

I agree with you. But I think given the shemozzle that we had with MM going and Buckley trying to get the side that he wants was going to take time. Unfortunately I don't think he has a lot of time left.

i get your point.
your blaming the recruitment.
i can see that.

Is that my cue to jump in???

id like to quote derek hine from at the start of this season;

"where were we want to be for a list point of view. its now up to the
coaching department to make good from it".
well along those lines anyway.

these sort of statements from people like hine are ignorant and are not
in the best interest of the collingwood footy club as they often reverberate
twice as loud in a negative way when things go bad.

some tough decisions will have to be made very soon i reckon. but will they be right decisions? only time will tell.

I can take that point, and I definitely know where you are coming from but the starting point has a lot to do with perception

A 6 win Alan Richardson season carries way more weight than a 9 win Collingwood season, so to speak

I can't see this continuing if we keep playing like this - there was a definite mid-late 90s feel about today, down to the 1/2 empty stands, the brave but very limited players, the sinking feeling we were never really going to win

Yep I remember those years vividly and sadly I don't see the committee sacking Bucks. I remember Ed saying back then that Collingwood doesn't sack it coaches.
