Yep. If he want a Cody to play again we'll have to take some of his DNA and clone him so he comes back in 100 years. _________________ Magpies love pies(Lol) |

My Thoughts:
Moore was Solid. Was Involved early in the Game and Had a Impact in Last Qtr with 2 Goals and setting up 2 Others
Young was Usless. Too Slow and a Turn over Machine
Scharanberg was barley Sighted but has no Strapping on his Knee for the 1st Time
Dwyer BOG is not even close being right. Barley Sighted
Goodyear had a Good Game and Kicked a Goal
Mantiet was Solid again
Cox Dominated in the Ruck but still has little idea about around the Ground Stuff
PK was in and out of the Game. Though can kick a Goal
Marsh also Dominated down back but Kicking can be hot and cold _________________ I am Da Man |

Thanks Bat!
Cloke in for Moore.
Who knows we might finally give Marsh a run.
I'm a big believer that you need to reward the kids when they've shown enough at the lower level otherwise you risk them losing confidence in how they're going about it and there form will slowly dwindle away.
Karnezis one last chance?
Need to find some goal kickers somewhere. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Sorry it was a post as part of the running dick jokes... Moore Cox etc... |
Surely Moore Cox, Goldsack and Seedsman make the perfect quadrella of dick jokes. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

^ Great call, MB. I rely on these in England.
From the call, it sounds as though Cox just took a huge step forward, and the Grundy/Witts dilemma might soon get a lot more complicated.
Did Scharenberg play deep back ? He seemed pretty quiet in the call. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Fair enough Dave, but on recent evidence Grundy or Witts can barely take a mark around the ground either. At least, from the call, it sounded as though Cox is getting the ball in contested marking situations. He occasionally screws up after he's got it, but that's better than not grabbing a mark at all. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Well Grundy was doing that Yesterday getting to Mark Contests but not Hanging around.
Well Cox does get around the ground lot better then Witts does _________________ I am Da Man |

Thanks Mugwump, glad you enjoyed it.
I wouldn't call Cox's game a "giant" step forward, because he did drop a fair few marks around the ground and make a few other ridiculous mistakes, but it was a good game, on balance. Statistically, it will probably come back as his best. It is improvement though, that's really the underlying thing.
Schara wasn't particularly dominant. Didn't play deep back (Marsh and Pendlebury had the key posts). I know my style of scoring tends to make the HBFs seem invisible, but it wasn't a performance that screamed 'pick me'. I made the remark during the game that he needs to get more urgent with regards to applying pressure. I stand by that. Was among our better users of the ball for the day, but that goes without saying.
Is he playing safe? Possibly, and understandable. And I'm sure the coaches will have their own metrics by which they measure his impact, but for me, I can't see a senior debut in that.
But I'll let you watch the replay and decide for yourself... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

Excellent, thanks. Because of the nature of a "highlights text" call, Cox sounded like BOG, so it's good to get that perspective.
Thanks for the update on Schara. Hopefully he is building his confidence after a nasty setback via the ACL. Any word on Ben Sinclair ? I rate him far more highly than you, and thought he'ds be up for a recall this week, but not now, alas. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

I got down at qtr time.
Seemed the game was won in that qtr, as frankston fought it out well for the remainder of the game.
Beside Marsh, no one screamed pick me!!! He showed all the qualities you'd want. His disposal seemed pretty good, judged the ball well in flight, quick and vocal.
Karnezis didn't do a hell of a lot, rotated heavily off the bench, which he seemed very dirty on.
Without dominating I thought Dwyer was classy. Sidebottomesque.
Cox showed signs but also had a lot of WTF moments.
Moore seemed quiet through the 2nd and 3rd but came alive in the last. I thought he had kicked more than 2 goals.
As some have stated Scharenberg lacks intensity and I thought his kicking was somewhat rushed and up and unders to nowhere.
I feel sorry for the Dollies, they really are a bunch of kids. I did over hear some regulars saying it was one of their better games and that they weren't giving away frees out of frustration like previous weeks. Some of my earliest and fondest footy memories are from Kar St. during the Dolphins dominance in the 90s.
I was impressed by Brayden Irvings (#7) game. He's gone from a CHF/CHB to a big ruck rover. Glides across the ground like his brother used to before doing 2 knees over the last 2 seasons. |

No worries, Kosh.
Will you be at Vic Park next week or will the seniors take priority for you? |
I think that I will be at Victory Park. I hate going to Docklands Stadium. I am looking forward to it.
Have a great week. |
