New keeper required.

Maybe this is Richie Robinson's chance, finally.

Insightful article by the wonderful Greg Baum:

Not all was lost on Saturday. About the time that Watson fell, Cricket Australia released the Big Bash League fixture for next summer. It was just after midnight in Australia, but the good news couldn't wait.

Played more tests than Darren Berry. Wink
Actually, I reckon Berry today is probably still a better keeper than Haddin!

Interesting article by Baum. Made some decent points, missed the mark on others IMO.

An Ashes series is not the time to turn a team over. You pick your best side you think will win no questions asked.

There was a time when 'doctoring' a wicket was only something India and Pakistan did.

Now, there's not even a pretence that it wasn't the case in Cardiff.

In what was supposed to be a turf wicket, England produced one "devoid of grass" (Cricinfo), to dull our attack and suit theirs.

Yeah, it's making me laugh when I hear or read the term "English conditions" when talking about this series......

All true but let's be honest, our batting effort in the second innings was an absolute bloody disgrace. On a dead wicket, there should have been at least two centuries from so called test class batsmen, to go with Johnno's 77. To fold like they did was really damn pathetic. Embarassed

Ha, when you have a player bowling underarm on the last ball of the day in your 'great" history, don't whinge too much about another country setting up the conditions to suit themselves!

Not whinging, but it was a factor.

Incidentally, the underarm bowl wasn't against the Laws of Cricket.

That said, no-one was proud of that incident - even the skipper, Greg Chappell.

Oh I know who it was against, and I know who did it and who told him too! I also know it was not against rules at the time, but it was, is and always will be outside, the spirit of the game. By the distance from here to New Zealand!

It was pretty funny watching it, though.

I thought so, too.

Especially when a couple of Aussie Test players showed - a week or so later- how that ball could've been hit for 6. Smile

Haven't you been deported yet back to Cambodia or Iran or wherever you came from? You're certainly not playing for Team Australia, sounds like sedition.

It's just not cricket.
