We played arguably the top 2 sides in the Competion and we should of beaten both of them.

But our 2 Key Forwards can Kick Straight from a Set Shot in front of Goal.

We can play very well but can’t kick straight we won’t become a Top 4.

Both have had Straight Kicking games but where both against Bad Sides

Collingwood took 15 marks inside 50 tonight. Very few of them were converted. Meanwhile, at the other end, Hawthorn took 10.

Of the Hawthorn players who marked inside 50, apart from Gunston (who kicked 2.4 - but, of course, nobody's mentioning that because Hawthorn won), amongst others Rioli kicked 5.0, Breust kicked 3.0 and Scone-maker kicked 1.0. What that suggests is that Hawthorn were getting the ball into the hands of the right players. At Collingwood, that would normally be Fasolo (whose kicking let him down) and Elliott (who didn't get a mark inside 50 and didn't trouble the scorers).

Cloke and White kicked about the way they kick most weeks (Cloke is sometimes a little better) - the problem seemed to me to be that the Hawks were able to close down all our good kicks for goal, except Fasolo (who, as fate would have it, chose tonight to be hopeless in front of goal). What we need is a better spread of goalkickers - and more players who are able to get into the forward 50 to mark consistently against top-quality opposition teams.

Cloke , fasolo , and white are paid to kick goals. Tonight they have cost us top 4. There is no excuse.

Fatigue plays a role in kicking. Players tend to be more fatigued against better sides. Bear in mind also that White and Cloke both slotted quality goals that could also have been misses so it often evens out (although I agree with the theme of the thread that we could have won the game if we had of kicked straighter).
