Is Jamie being tagged out of the game or is he just out of form. Is he being played out of position? A month ago Jamie was fantastic for us and bordering on being an A Grader. The five goals that Cloke kicked in one game alone were all from marks taken from Elliott.
In the last two weeks you would hardly notice that he was playing. Jamie gives us the wow factor when he is on song and the wow factor is important in winning games that are in the balance. He has been sorely missed. |

Basically he has been heavily tagged out of the game.
The opposition now realize just how damaging he can be. He only needs one quarter to blow the game apart.
Elliot just needs to learn how to deal with such close attention. Best example of that is the Captain. _________________ BLACK n WHITE

We need someone to start laying some heavy blocks for him. Caff would be great for this, our current forwards seem a bit soft (Fas and White). |

Not sure Blair can be the enforcer. Annoying that his last 2 weeks have been off especially against top opposition. He probably needs to temper the "Jeremy Howe" tendencies and re focus on continued work rate especially pushing up to the mid field. I guess he is allowed a flat spot, despite it being annoying. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

Might have something to do with the last two games being against quality opposition. I hope he doesn't end up like Leon Davis, who was often a world beater against ordinary teams but went missing against the good teams. |

With all that he's been able to achieve it's not hard to forget that he's still just a 22 year old kid with 65 games to his name and still a long way off his prime and most consistent footy. As others have noted, had some really close tags the last couple of weeks. Teams will get better at identifying the right matchup for him so he can expect more of those. Just needs to work out how he deals with them and he certainly appears to be trying different things. Been a few whispers that he may also be carrying a bit of a groin strain. |

That's a myth perpetuated on the back of a couple of quiet GF performances but hardly reflective of his performances across his career. |

All I can say is the Jamie Elliott that played for us a month ago is essential to our success and I hope he finds form and a means of minimising the adverse effect of being heavily tagged. Jamie has quickly become one of the most p[popular players on our list and he is a very important part of our team when at his best. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

He is an grader and will get back to form, reckon the publicity and hype might have gone to his head (my opinion) and now in his next faze of brilliance. _________________ There is Collingwood and then the rest. |

Aren't we being a bit harsh on Elliot? Played two great defensive teams the last two weeks. Still kicked a great goal at a critical stage in the last quarter against Hawthorn. Sometimes you don't get a lot of opportunities against the really good sides when you play forward on the ground. Rioli didn't get a lot of opportunities either, but with 10 possessions got best man on the ground. So Rioli is the benchmark for Elliot to aspire to. It's not about taking a scorcher of a mark. Elliot has to temper his passion for the sake of the team and play more team oriented footy. That's part of the learning process. We should be more critical of Elliot's game once he's played 100 games. |

Port Adelaide don't have anyone as good as Hodge or Burgoyne holding up their back line, so it's a good opportunity for Elliot to kick a few goals against Port. |
