I can't believe there's no thread on this so I'll start one.
After losing their first match to the Americans 3-1 the Matildas have fought back to beat the Nigerians 1-0, then drew 1-1 with the 5th ranked Swedish team, and have just beaten the 7th ranked Brazilian team 1-0 (who it should be noted had not conceded a goal to that point) to move into the quarter finals against a yet to be determined side.

An amazing effort by the players after a disasterous start to their campaign.
For those interested their quarter final game is being played on Sunday the 28th at 0600 AEST.

Great game by the Matilda's.
First Australian side to reach quarter finals of a World Cup (men's or women's).
