Easy to gloss over it in a win or when you win free kick count 16-9, but I thought that there were some howlers today:

1 Cloke mauled by Davis (?) who then landed in his back and no free kick.

2 Jezza Cameron playing on from in front of the mark to kick a goal not called back.

3 Jezza Cameron mark paid on the half volley.

4 Toovey dropping the ball when tackled about 45m out not paid as a free to GWS.

Also, did anyone keep track of how many free kicks Pies got when we had already marked or otherwise had possession of the ball?

We surely lead the league in free kicks where we are paid advantage, its quite amazing to watch, didn't notice it today as much though.

Umpires were very good today, after the 1st half anyway, was worried when we got 3-4 in the last minute before half time they were going to even up afterwards but the opposite occurred!

Hell Clokey got a free kick inside 50!!!

i don't hold as much disdain for stevic as most on this forum but there was one free kick where we should have got a holding the ball decision from the controlling ump. stevic wasn't going to pay it. bannister called it from the centre square and this forced stevic to blow his whistle. i don't know how an ump from about 40-50 metres away could see better than the ump only 5-10 metres away.

Bingo

Although today it seemed more obvious- clear marks aad frees paid (Elliot mark- White free in the first was actaully a disadvantage!), or down fields where we already have an open paddock.

We got a good run today- the toovey call was holding all day long.

In general game was well umpired today- always helps when we win Very Happy [/u]

I very much enjoyed them taking the mark off Elliott to give White a free kick in the third quarter. I'm not criticising White for a moment but Elliott is the best shot for goal at the Club since Didak retired and I was reasonably confident he'd have hit the goal.

I think we've learned to play on form "frees" cause "frees" to the other clubs (ie. according to the laws of the game) are usually (not even often, but usually) not paid to us. So we play on, regardless, because we aren't expecting the call. I think this has made us a much better team, it allows us to be ok in the first half against Richmond (12-3 frees their way and a mauling by the men in fluro by anyones interpretation) for example. The only frees we benefit from are the ones when play stops, basically. Otherwise, we might as well not get them which is lucky, because we usually don't! And if you don't think that's true, watch the Richmond game again and ask yourself why we're not equal second on the ladder and playing for top spot in a fortnight Razz

Stevic doesn't hate us, he's just a Hawthorn fanatic. He only rogers us when we play the Dawks.

The non free kick for in the back to Cloke was THE SINGLE-MOST WORST UMPIRING DECISION OF 2015...

I normally am not fazed by the umpires and in saying that the AFL have obviously told that Squib Campbell to favour GWS at all costs.
