Trump's press conference today once again showed what a preposterous clown he is, making it up as he goes along.
Interestingly, the Tillerson nomination hearing today was a study in the opposite. Whether you like the oil industry or not, Tillerson has climbed to the top of a big and very successful business full of very smart and driven people. He was tough, assured, smart. Had a wobble on whether Exxon had lobbied against sanctions against .russia, but over many hours he was like a President should look and sound. I suspect he is expecting Trump to implode (over Russia, over conflicts of interest, over sex scandals, fraud, or what have you) while positioning himself to take over the reins. Otherwise it is hard to work out why a fellow who has reached Tillerson's level in business would subject himself to baiting by that pissant Rubio, who would be middle management in Exxon. I suspect President Rex Tillerson will be how this circus ends.

^ Pence would automatically become president if/when it happens, you are right. But the process will take ca 2-3 years and the process for the next round nomination would be around the corner. I think Tillerson would be a far stronger candidate in the eyes of the party at that point. I just can't see, otherwise, why Tillerson would bother.

^ I suppose it's plausible. But if Trump's candidacy crashes and burns, it seems far more likely that the Republicans will try to go back to a safe pair of hands, preferably without the taint of association with Trump. Pence would already be the favourite as the incumbent, but I suspect any Reagan '76–style challenger would have to emerge from outside the current administration; probably a John Kasich or Scott Walker type.

As much as I dislike Trump I don't think it's fair or right to buy into these sex romp allegations at this stage.
To be honest even if they were true if the women involved were of legal age and partaking of there own free will why should it make him unfit for office?
A persons sexual habits are there own private matter if no laws are being broken or the laws themselves are misguided when adults are consenting to an act that some may find distasteful.
Christ Bear Grylls has drunk his own pee for a television show.

Trump had as much or more mud slung his way during the election campaign I would have thought by many media outlets.
Of course a lot of that was of his own doing because he's a doofus but balance is still required and importantly proof if outlandish allegations are to be made. |

I agree with this. It's just prurience, really, and a pretty cheap way to get at him. The only scandal would be if it emerged that he was letting some kind of blackmail affect his decisions re: Russia, but there's scant evidence of that.
I'm much more interested in his business dealings over there and how they seem to have affected his foreign policy approach.
