Where on gods green earth did you pull that statement from?
OK, if 3 people out of however many million do that it does count as some but still. I'm pretty sure the major news channels get pretty good ratings so there's plenty of people watching.
There's also plenty of people drinking their coffee and that is seriously crappola stuff, but they're used to it. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

From the usual place.
I think it's probably more academics who can't deal with commercial American TV. PBS isn't bad either, apparently, but woefully funded. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Good god. I'm almost barracking for Bush or Rubio now. Although, admittedly, Carson would be a massive free kick to the Democrats if he actually got nominated.
PS, this article was at least mildly amusing:
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/commentisfree/2015/nov/03/frontrunners-for-president-frankie-boyle
Quote: | Why do both parties rage against bias in what is actually a laughably servile media? Maybe it’s because the political class have an instinctive contempt for asking the public to decide anything meaningful, such as policy. So their campaigns have to be largely symbolic affairs about hope or hard work or whatever flavour of horseshit is polling well. Most campaign spending goes on advertising (65% of Obama’s “grassroots” campaign of 2012 was media spend) and advertising speaks in symbolism. Thus the parties may actually distrust any kind of rational inquiry, as what they’re saying doesn’t, and can’t, make any sense. |

^ it isn't the wackiest thing he's said, and apparently nobody cares. That this guy and Trump are leading the polls suggests there's something seriously weird going on within the Republican movement. This is Tea Party on acid. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Better a sincere, moral, good man with a bit of whacko than a rabid, progressive, Social Justice Warrior of a leader.

The thought of that happening here sends chills down my spine. Thankfully our main leftish party are still fairly conservative and wouldn't (please) put in a crazy authoritarian leftist to lead (Plibersook comes to mind as the only one who might pull a Bradbury when Shorten goes and nobody wants to lead). |

I don't know much about Trudeau, but he has to be an improvement on Harper... and if his biggest crimes are supporting marijuana decriminalisation and having photos taken with topless protestors, sign me up now!
(I don't know much about the 'gamergate' business but its proponents do seem a little dubious.)
Anyway, I just realised that Chafee and Webb have dropped out of the Democratic race, which makes sense because, honestly, why did they even bother running in the first place? But it still seems strange that there are 15 Republican candidates and only 3 Democrats. Is everyone else so certain that Clinton will get the nomination that they couldn't be bothered running? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

It's exhausting following this and I don't even live in the USA so I can only imagine what it's like for the Yanks!
Does anyone know when the final vote for Democrats and Republican nominees to run as President is going to take place? _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

The Dems will nominate Hillary, there's nobody else. (She's 25 points up on the Socialist).

Thanks for the information and dates Wokko.
Sanders was seen as the only potential threat to Hillary but she was pretty much a certainty from the start. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Yep, it'll be Clinton for the Dems. Bush or Rubio for the Republicans is my guess. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
