Nah, the Republicans are just good at applying 'progressive' sentiments when it suits them – generally, when they're trying to sell deeply unprogressive policies. There's a word for that; it starts with 'D' and ends in 'isingenuous'.

Donald Trump is a New York liberal. He's not being disingenuous but it's hard to see a sincere Republican Party backing these proposals.

I don't think he really believes in anything. He's a businessman at the end of the day and knows how to sell a line.

It is interesting.

The other variable that I didn't see covered in either the polling or methodology is that Trump is attracting a crowd. He's getting people who don't normally vote and there's also the silent supporter who will vote for Trump but won't publicly acknowledge it.

It's going to be close at this stage but my money's still on Trump to win.

Another variable is that Obama this week apparently said that Trump could win because the USA is inherently sexist and isn't ready for a female POTUS. (my edited interpretation). That's something that could seriously backfire.

The thread I saw this on and the Youtube comments tend to agree. The best one I saw was "I thought this was a campaign ad until the end" Laughing
