Hahaha!!
I busted him ages ago, but promised not to out him in a PM. Laughing
Seeing the cat is outta the bag now though....... Laughing

Just let him come back would ya mods, but as someone in pain, not as the dog!! Very Happy

A much softer view on footy and clearly GC is an optimist rather than a pessimist, however on other forums and in particular with anything remotely political there is a hint of right wing monarchist lurking under the guise of our beloved Gordon Coventry! Maybe when the piss and poo hits the fan we will see a darker side…?

Yeah I've suspected the same for a while.

Writing patterns and habits are very hard to hide no matter the name.

Even non Collingwood " people " are impressed by Bucks. I have always enjoyed Ross's " lyonisms " but for straight talking, keep a lid on it coach speak, Bucks has them all covered.

What a difference listening to Buckley compared to that old sour bloke before him. It's worth watching AFL360 for him. Regarding Roos, he is simply coaching for the Superannuation top up.

Bucks is Fantastic.

He just feels you with Confidence when he talks

Some pretty harsh assessments of Roos here. He accepted the toughest gig in the AFL, to coach the basket case that was Melbourne and turn the club around and get them on the right track, in a limited amount of time. He has done just that imo. Melbourne are no longer the joke they were when he took over. They've developed a more attacking side to their game this season after developing a competent defence last year, and they have taken a few scalps along the way. More importantly though, they're a genuinely competitive side, even if they don't have the wins on the board to back it up yet.

Is Roos better than Buckley? IMO, no. But he has done a good job so far in his short time at the Demons, as opposed to another certain premiership coach that took a competent team on the edge of finals, to the bottom of the ladder in only a couple of short years.

+1

Not only is Bucks a class act, but when he talks he has journos in awe of him. He intimidates them with his directness and intelligence. He's on track to be coach of the year imo.

Yep. Michael Palin's character in Ripping Yarns. "Seven bloody nil!" Laughing

But no, how could you resist taking the name Golden Gordon when talking about the greatest full forward the game has ever seen.

Who knows, in 20 years time we might be talking about Nathan Buckley with the same reverence that the name Sir Alex Ferguson is uttered around Old Trafford. Very Happy

Paul Roos is way over-rated. On the other hand, our Bucks is way under-rated...but this will change when he wins us 3 flags in the next decade. Go Pies!

Whenever I've watched Buckley interviewed at length, both about football and life in general, I've always been blown away by his logic and wisdom.

What also impresses me about the quality of the man is that he's not afraid to admit to the players if he's been wrong - he publically admitted he went overboard with Witts last season and also said on AFL 360 how he explained to the players that he had been too low key immediately after the win over the Giants. That's the mark of a man who has inner strength and belief.

Fantastic post-match interview this week. Insightful, forthcoming and mature. Terrific listen.

Roos is a premiership coach, let's call it at the end of their careers.
