I used to be undecided, but now I'm not so sure.

How accurate is it though? I'm sure after scans Maxwell said he was one to two weeks at most & that it was a minor strain. They have him down as round 15 return?

I can't believe there is a website dedicated to injuries!

And Freeman is only 3 weeks away, for the 8th week in a row.

Good to see that we at least think Scharenberg will play this year, but won't read too much into the expected return date.

Interestingly, we still have more injured players (8) than any other team (not counting those listed as test or already returned). Though that is including Gault.

Good thing. We might not see them at senior level in 2014 but a few games in the VFL will be a good lead in to a solid preseason.

Sounds promising but sheezus, why not just leave Freeman as indefinite instead of this 3 week nonsense they keep peddling? I'll start believing them when it finally reads 1-2 or "test"

Chris Judd 3 votes.

Nathan Freeman 3 weeks.

Somethings never change.

A return date?

In Scharenberg's case it's a start date.

Hopefully things continue to pan out well well.

As for Freeman WTF? Must have been some sort of hammy injury.

It's really quite exciting to have two top 10 draft picks to look forward to. God knows where we'd play them now if they are both good enough to make it.

out of interest cam where does that site get it's injury details from? no disrespect to them....i just think the club picks a date out of thin air. i am increasingly thinking this is the case with our soft tissue injuries.... note this article (in particular the date, and the estimates on the return).

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-02-12/nab-challenge-cats-v-pies-coach-report

so as of 12th of February Freeman was listed as 4 weeks out. Ok, so the injury hangs around. We are now in June and by my reckoning Freeman has improved by one week in four months Laughing .

Honestly, i can understand the club will say "we need to manage the lad... and not rush the injury....etc.....tow the club line....etc etc" All good....but really we could have just sat him on the long term list like Scharenberg. And given Martin a go.

It is not just Freeman. Let's see with Maxwell, i am betting he will be 5 - 6 weeks. yet the club said 1-2.

Freeman went from 3 weeks then after about 6 weeks it went down to 1 to 2 weeks, then it went back up to three weeks about 4 weeks ago!!!!!!

Injury Lotto, let's get Billy Brownless to spin the wheel instead of Rocket's Comedy Review every week.

Again, the assumption that Martin would have been selected if he was promoted. My response, if they'd wanted/needed to play Martin, they would have found a way to promote him. People continually suggest current senior players that he's (apparently) clearly better than but obviously the selectors see it differently and the fact we're 8-3 seems to suggest they're getting it right more often than not.

In terms of injuries this has been hypothesized to death. I think the club goes on the best available medical advise and what they anticipate will ensue, sadly, there are no guarantees.

That's fantastic news, can't wait to see this kid play. I was speaking with a mate who's cousin does some youth scouting for carlscum, and he reckons that is is only the injury that stopped him from potentially being the number one pick. In his opinion he is the best kid from that draft.

I think Hine would agree.

Seemed very happy when they Interviewed him after the Draft. Had a Smile when he talked about him
