The most disgraceful umpiring performance of the year. Should have his card marked as never to umpire again. Grundy and White both clearly wrong. Stuffing up the holding the ball rule. Has definite potential to join FIFA!

Yep-he was truly horrible.

Was responsible for the most ridiculous calls all day.

To actually make Stevic look like a competent umpire is a mighty hard task- and today this guy did.

And that other thing wearing 28, who was just as pox and deluded.

When Stevic is the best of the three maggots by the length of Flemington, and the only giving us frees, then you know something is seriously at this level.

Oh bro! Sir Alan of Didak identified #28 as Troy Pannell, in another thread [Schmidt]. Calls him Dracula, lol. He has that shit-eating grin on his dial.

Did you see Buckley mouth "WtF?!" from the coaches box, on that dropping the ball call against Varcoe in 4th quarter?

Kamolins was a Melb supporter pre-umpire life. Fact.

Well the worst individual effort I have seen since the 1989 final against Melbourne, a match where even the MCC members cringed.

Who was the one in the centre square in the last that called Blair for "diving on it" when Blair had been on the ground and the ball rolled into him. Some Melbourne guy practically pins it to Blair's back and the ump calls it a Melbourne free.

There was another one at about the same time in the same section of the ground. I wonder what the line on today's game was?

Didn't see who called that free against Blair, but wasn't the ball between his feet? Kamolins' was by far the worst performance of the three umps. I think Stevic is one of the better umpires out there. He is not a grand stander and appears to me to try to stay out of the spotlight. The worst call was the holding the ball decision not paid against Melbourne on the wing. Player had clear prior, was tackled, spun 360 and still wasn't freed and yet Broomhead is tacked for a split second and is pinged. Infuriating! We all know umpires make mistakes and those leg frees against Grundy and White were clearly wrong, but understandable in the circumstances; the rules have changed and it is a very difficult decision to get right in a split second. Maxy thought the decision against White was OK, but I couldn't see it. White dived to win the ball and the Melbourne player came from the side; no way White would have been aware of him.
Stevic 8
Pannell 7
Kamolins 5

Then free kick against was there in a technical sense. I thought it was an issue if timing. That is White was there well before the Dees player. In that sense the Free shouldn't have been paid.

At the same time, Pendels ought to have a free paid against him in the last qtr she he was hanging onto his opposition player who did not have possession when the ball went out. Broomhead was also lucky to be paid a free when he kicked a wonderful goal from the boundary as the ball was not out on the full.

Swings & roundabouts.

I'm not so sure the free was there even technically against White. The contact below knees rule is to stop players sliding at a contest directly in to their opponent, not to stop contact regardless. White was at the contest well before his opponent, who came in from the side and tripped over him. He wasn't sliding in to his opponents legs, so why the hell is he getting an infringement?

All 3 of them deserve to be deregistered and given life time bans for their disgusting performance yesterday. How the hell do they find these muppets?
