NO.

So then, no.

The one thing we need to be targeting is players that can make an impact up forward, especially key position forwards.

But but but but but we have the best biggest most expensive in the business

Franklin & Boyd say Hi Wink

WHO?

Cloke isn't in the top 5 now for highest paid forwards, and probably not in the top 20 for highest paid players now.

Plus, he will be 29 by the start of next season and it's pretty obvious we are still 2-3 years off being a premiership challenging team so we need to plan for then, not now.

you don't chase a big bloke just because he has strung together a few games in a row after being injury riddled his previous 5 years in the system.
He would need to play good footy virtually every game for the rest of the season before I would even entertain him.
I still have vivid memories of him on the weekend dropping that crucial chest mark in the last quarter and gifting us a goal when it was up for grabs. Yes, it was very wet but I just don't imagine really good key defenders letting that happen.

If we wanted a defender who could also be switched forward if required I'd rather Carlisle though granted the cost would be greater and there is the issue of the WADA investigation hanging over his head.

Henderson is another I'd be interested in for the right price.

At a good club for the first time in his career he's every chance to play career best football.

At least with Dangerfield we could get him without eating into our depth by having to give up players and/or draft picks. On the other hand I reckon Cam Guthrie from the Cats would worth offering big money to. Don't see how the Cats could match it if they want to get Dangerfiled and re-sign Hawkins and Motlop. And they're just the out of contract players Geelong players I've heard about. There could be more.

I think he'd be pleasantly surprised to hear we're considering him given this howler on the weekend:

To be fair, wet footy and all ... judge not lest ye be judged! Wink

He is a free agent this year.

Should we chase him?

A handy addition to our improving backline and proven shut down player.

We should appeal:

- big club
- brother played here
- Levi here

Thoughts ?

No. No. No.

What a stupid idea, nearly as stupid as the idea to bring his brother back after failing to win a premiership at Freo...

We have enough foot soldiers: Now should only be looking at elite talent.
