Marsh's ton sees him replacing the injured Chris Rogers at the top of the order for today's first Test.
The match begins at midnight (Oz eastern time). _________________ Donny.

The Windies batted first after Dinesh Ramdin won the toss.
All out 148. Shai Hope scored 36. Josh Hazelwood and Mitch Johnson took 3 wickets each. Mitch Starc took 2/48.
Australia: 3/85. Adam Voges 20*, Steve Smith 17*.
Looks a good batting wicket but 13 wickets on day 1 suggests otherwise. _________________ Donny.

Bishoo strikes in first Test.
Devendra Bishoo (3/42) has the big scalps of Michael Clarke, Steve Smith and Shane Watson as Australia chases the Windies 148 first innings total.
5/117.
Adam Voges is 31 n.o.

It's 22 years, to the day, since Warney bowled Gatting with 'that' ball.
Bishoo just repeated that delivery to bowl Braddin. _________________ Donny.

The decision to include Voges has certainly been vindicated - he is the difference between the teams, so far. Hazlewood did well to stay with him and score 39 but Voges' 130 not out stands like a beacon in a very scratchy innings (indeed, Haz's 39 is the next best score in the test so far).
Australia all out 318, led the Windies by 170 on the first innings. Johnson and Starc have just taken 2 wickets in two balls (Hope and Braithwaite) and the Windies are 2/24 in their second innings. |

So, WI 2/25 at stumps. Dowrich 1 and Bravo 3 the not outs. They need another 145 to make Australia bat again. Bishoo took 6/80 in the Australian innings - only Voges and Hazlewood stood between him and an Australian catastrophe. |

Haddin & Watson: what were they thinking. Well I suppose it's a stretch to say thinking. Utter disregard for the moment, the opposition & not valuing their wickets. _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Hardly a catastrophe, mate. Remember, the Windies scored just 148. The Aussies were already 30 runs past that when the 7th wicket fell (MJ).
When Hazelwood joined Voges, they were 70 ahead. Voges and Hazelwood put on 97 for the last wicket.
Very happy for Adam Voges. A debutante at closer to 36 than 35, he demanded a spot in the touring squad with the sheer weight of runs (6 centuries) in the last Sheffield Shield season. _________________ Donny.

WI all out for 216 in the second dig. Starc took 4, Johnson, Lyon and Hazlewood 2 each.
Aust needs 47 to win. They have 11 from the first 5 balls. |
