Mick is now finally free to go and coach the Malthouse Football Club in the Malthouse Football League, on a lifetime contract.

Be careful of the president though Mick - I hear he's a self-centred ego maniac! Make sure he doesn't upset Nanette too much...

I want Mick to stay on at Carlton. If they get a hungry young coach with new ideas, they might actually get their act together in the next couple of years. There's absolutely no chance of that happening if Mick stays there.

Hear hear! Time to start the "pro MM at Carlton" social media fenzy, it'd be a good outcome for all (well other than Carlton supporters)!

Vote early and vote often for the "Reappoint Mick as Coach" option in the "What should the Blooz do?" poll at the foot of this story:

You really didn't need a crystal ball to forcast this before he evened commenced his coaching sting with the Scum.

When you look at the MM ego and understand that is all about "Him" and then you mix it with a toxic environment like Carlton FC you know it is going to go arse up.

The Scum are heavily influenced by businessmen who have undue influence on the club. They dictate who is the coach and the president. They have no loyalty, will cut anyone throat at a minutes notice and the club is well and truly on the nose due to their activities.

How was even "not go wrong".

I'm proud to say I called it years ago:

http://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?p=1309661&highlight=#1309661

And to think that Mick could still be at the Westpac Centre in semi-retirement on about $500K a year enjoying life....

At least Ed gave him a directory of coaching role and didn't completely boot him out.

Yeah it is undeniable that MM made a very stupid error in his ungainly haste to "get back" at Collingwood for some perceived mismanagement when in stark reality it was actually MM who could/would not stand by his own word.

Why would MM even think Carlton would remotely consider reappointing him to begin with? He's a relic from a bygone era who has by any measure done a bloody terrible job as coach of the Scum. Results are what count not his 30 years previous track record and to even think that would get him another extension just shows the self delusion and arrogance of the man.

His baiting of the Carlton board is almost identical to the petulance he displayed towards Eddie and Bucks.

He'll be booted out on his arse and deservedly so and this should finally put to rest the argy bargy about the succession plan because it is plain to see Malthouse has lost it completely and is hell bent on self destructing.

Seriously why would anyone want someone capable of this even near their football club?
