REID IS A BACKMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's also a very good forward.

Recruited as a forward and started his career as a forward. Pretty handy down back though. Wink

You may recall that Reid suffered a horrible case of the yips up forward when kicking for goal. this was one of the reasons he went down back. ironic really.

I think we might find out the answer to that question when we start playing the good sides pretty shortly. We have done well to date and if had of beaten Richmond (whihc we should have) then would be sitting really well placed but the players who go well vs average sides (eg Williams / Seedsman etc) need to show they can do same vs the good sides.

The players I reckon who might be in our best 22 now who need to show they can do it vs good sides I reckon are (note have left out the really young kids as bit early to judge them);

Frost
Blair
Seedsman
Williams
Fasolo
White
Varcoe

They have are old enough and have had enough games to be able to make a judgement call on them in that 2nd half of the year.

Getting games in to the kids this year will be really important so happy for those with solid VFL form to squeeze a few of the more recognised senior players out.

Would be nice to see Freeman, Marsh, Scharenberg getting at least a taste. Kennedy's form has been good so he can't be far off senior selection. Abbott is the other one who is an exciting prospect at senior level if he can get his fitness up. Maynard, Goodyear and Manteit appear likely to take longer.

Likely means that older fringe players like Armstrong and Dwyer, possibly even Young, get less opportunities but that's a good thing.
