OUT -- PK, Tooves, … (Pendles?)
IN -- Kennedy, Sidey, … (Ramsay?),

Grundy seems dangerous up forward, so maybe Witts could have more ruck time and Grundy could play fwd more…?

If we play the two big guys we need to drop PK he is too slow which is compounded when playing 2 big ruck/fwd types.

Therefore Kennedy comes in for PK.

Sidey comes in and if Pendles is injured I would give Ramsay a game.

Broomy is lucky to keep his spot but I would give him another chance.

Somebody said we should bring in Scharenberg! If you've seen him play you'd realise he is several weeks, if not months away from senior selection. The only players in the VFL worth considering atm are Kennedy (if fit), Fasolo (better than PK), Gault (more mobile than Witts) and Dwyer (a great sub player). Ramsay should also be an automatic inclusion. We need Sidey back asap, especially while Pendles is playing crippled. More than anything we desperately need an infusion of class.

Can someone please explain to me why people constantly call for Fasolo to come back into the senior side? Don't get me wrong, I love him and the work he does for the website and CTV, but he is simply NOT an AFL footballer. He has a bigger ego than Jack Anthony, in how high he regards himself. This is the guy that calls himself "The Prince of Perth". He is a weak showboater who refuses to put his head over the ball. His flair is blindingly evident on gameday when he tries to take an elaborate chest mark, instead of just getting the job done, much like an early days Daisy. He's been on our list for 5(?) years now and needs to step up or step off. The only way I see him surviving is to play down back, where he will be forced to work hard.

Is it yet confirmed that Toovs will miss? A lot of people are already dropping him cititng injury. I haven't heard it confirmed, but I'm happy to be proven wrong. I'll play it safe for now.

IN: Gault, Kennedy (if fit - came off with an injury, not sure as to the extent), Dwyer, Sidebottom, Ramsey(if fit).
OUT: Witts (omit.), PK (omit), Broomhead (omit), Pendlebury (rest), Toovey (inj).

The Witts/Grundy experiment has failed, as expected. We have lost both games when they both played. Both games we were expected to win. Get Gault in and give him a run of 6-7 games. He will surprise you. He's hard at it, clumsy at times, but I believe he's nervous (as Adams was early on in his time with us), and that will fade with the knowledge he's not constantly playing for his life. Kennedy is a gun. Plain and simple. If he's good to go, play him. Not as the sub, in the middle and rest him as a small forward. He's chock full of talent, let's see it! Broomhead has cruised for the last few weeks. Needs a slight attitude adjustment via the VFL.

Paddy Karnezis. Well, I must say, I 've been laughing at the legions of Collingwood fans calling for him to play. I'm sure they all now see why he wasn't. Will be a VFL specialist until we delist him (or trade him to some bottom feeder team). Really would have preferred to keep Jackson Paine.

Neither Witts or Grundy will ever be a great forward option, so pick which one you want to ruck with, and the other has to be VFL. I reckon the big American would be more dangerous in the square than either of them.

Broomhead - not a lot of physical attributes, is he clever enough to overcome this?

Frost - a real battler, who will live up to this tag, he will "battle" away but he can't be your full back if you want to seriously challenge the top teams. [would have preferred Keefe]

Adams - also battles away, but will not be A grade midfielder.

There are not huge options to bring in from the VFL simply because of injuries and rehab. We have been playing with between 11 -13 AFL listed players down there each week. There is oodles of talent coming through but still too many out injured to give us plenty of options. Until Scharenberg plays another 5 or 6 games and we see the return of Sidey, Ramsay, Sinclair, Moore, Greenwood, Reid and Caff the options will be limited. Marsh is looking fairly close and Kennedy is ready. Faz played very well in the first half in the VFL. I don't know about Toovey's injury but it sounds like he may miss so:

IN: Sidey, Ramsay, Fasolo
OUT: PK, Toovey, Broomhead

We have to be patient with a heap of players. I wouldn't want to be too harsh on Witts, or PK. Witts is still developing after missing a big chunk of the pre season and PK has barely played at AAL level for two years. I would not give up on him yet. He has superb finishing skills. He looked slow but he has not adjusted back the speed of AFL games yet. I believe he can.

I can't understand the love of Fasolo, why would Collingwood want a forward who can actually kick straight? Will slot goals from almost anywhere inside 50m..That doesn't fit the Collingwood game plan!

We already have a player that can do that. Jamie Elliott has kicked 80.44 in 59 games. Fasolo has kicked 54.41 in 54 games. Rotate Billy in the midfield with Kennedy and Blair, and Fas can enjoy the VFL until he proves he deserves a spot on our team.

Fasolo was dropped because his lack of pressure and intensity. Since being dropped he has played well in the VFL and has been obviously making a concerted effort to improve in these areas. Given his good VFL form and the ppor form of Karnezis, it makes sense to swap them over. I suspect PK may never play senior footy again. Fasolo, however, has shown he certainly can play at the AFL level, he just has to avoid playing lazy football.

I would give Faz a run over PK this week. He is stronger in the body and can kick straight , the few weeks in the VFL have hopefully made him learn his lesson.

Geez, I hope I'm wrong, because being a footy romantic and knowing this kid barracked for us growing up, it'd break his heart to get dumped by the club. I really hope he turns it around.

With Toovey and Sidey apparently already ruled out of playing this week, I just hope Pendles is ok. Otherwise we'd struggle to beat anyone. I think Kennedy probably needs one more VFL game before being recalled to the seniors.

Assuming Ramsay is right to resume, I reckon our changes will be:

Ins: Ramsay, Marsh, Fasolo

Out: Karnesis, Toovey (inj), Broomhead

Balmey's injury report seems to suggest that Sidey is a big chance to play, while Ramsay is a maybe. Also, given there is no VFL game this weekend, I have reconsidered my changes to include the following:

Ins: Sidey, Fasolo, Kennedy

Outs: Toovey (inj), Karnesis, Broomhead

If Broomhead keeps his spot, then Fasolo will miss. I sense Bucks sees far greater potential in Kennedy atm.

Sat just behind the Collingwood interchange bench. In the last quarter Pendles was literally hobbling on and off the ground. We must not work him to the bone, far too valuable a player for that. I say take the chance now and rest him against the Suns. Also drop one of Witts, Grundy and White. All three make the side far too slow. Rolling Eyes
